My DH was surfing the web for woodworking patterns and he found a site of Disney pictures that I could save as a picture and then digitiz. This is not an official Disney site. Would this be ok?

I have some clip art that I got free and would like to try to digitize...someday. I would be leary on taking any pic, expecially Disney, off the net to digitize....unless, stayes in my house or close by

Technically, no, it would not be ok. The Disney characters are still going to be Disney characters, and as such still covered by their copyright. If they "got wind" of it, they could come after you, no matter where you got the images from. However, as long as you are only using it for personal use (just for you or for gifts), you can get away with it. Despite the seemingly endless "privacy violations" that we have to put up with in our modern world, there still isn't an actual "Big Brother" who sees and knows all, and punishes the offenders. =] Good luck and have fun with your digitizing.

I think (but not sure) that if you don't sell the designs or the projects where you embroider them is ok, but I am not very sure. Flower and XoXo

I thought I would be okay as long as I don't sell them. My projects are for me or my family and friends as gifts.
