they make a poly sewing thread so you might have that instead of embroidery. But,no embroidery thread is not anywhere near strong enough to be used for regular sewing. The results are not good.

Just like Dawn said, it won't last if you use it for regular sewing-too lightweight.

Not if it is embroidery thread! I sewed two seams on sleeves that my son had ripped open. I noticed that on the first sleeve I used broidery thread and on the second sleave I used Cotton heavy duty. The first seam ripped out in two seconds! I guess I had to learn the hard way!!Dawn
