Great tip! It's kind of funny that I've been looking for the rolling pin bands. I do want them for my rolling pins though. :) One of the things on my wish list.

They came from an outlet shopping mall maybe six or eight years ago that sold kitchen items. Great for rolling out dough all the same depth.

While trying to make a wider even hem came across my rolling pen depth bands used to roll out even dough. While the deeper light grey bands would have worked the best they just were too thick to stretch far enough to go around the free arm. Have tried painters tape and sticky notes to keep distance but that was only a flat guide. The thickness of the bands let the fabic stay up against and glide even. Since most don't have these rolling pin bands a couple or three rubber bands on top of each other would made a nice thick guide.
