Hi Elizabeth, I have been thinking of you and praying for you. Depression can be such a confusing condition. For years I have been treated for depression without an actual diagnosis. But when I went through a medication change it became evident that I didn't have true depression, what I was going through was post traumatic shock from something that happened to me as a child. Going off the meds brought it all back to me, and it was pure hell. Finally I am back on meds and up to a level that helps me keep all those horrible memories buried again. But, my family doctor says I have to face those demons to finally be rid of them. Maybe what you are going through is NOT your fault. Maybe we, as women, had things happen to us that were out of our control and we are still carrying around the guilt. It is okay to ask for help from professionals. We are worth the effort and expense and deserve the happiness and relief from events that were not our fault. There are a whole lot of us here at Cuties who understand and who would love to help you, Elizabeth. We are praying for you. Hugs and Love, Jan

Elizabeth,
You and your family are in my prayers. I have gone through a seriously depressed period, so I know how terrible it is. Just pm me if you ever need to talk and I will email you to chat. May the Lord lift your spirits, give you strength for all required of you, and peace of heart knowing you are in His hands.

Elizabeth, I can really relate to you feeling down, I have those days more than I like, I will pray for you and I am sure that will help, but whatever rut you are in and for whatever reason you need to take some steps to overcome it. God helps those who help themselves, So here is what you need to do. Be proactive, find something to do that makes you feel happy, or at least relaxed. As Lillian suggested get out of the house, go for a walk. I don't actually agree with the simplicity of the statement that depression can make you physically sick. Depression in it's true form is in and of itself a sickness, it does not make you sick because if you have it you are already sick, but you may be depressed or you may be just feeling sad, a distinction that I feel is very important. I am a registered psychiatric nurse with many years of experience in mental health assessment, so I get quite frustrated when people assume that being sad is depressed, it is not. sad is within the normal range of human emotion, depression is not. So what needs to be figured out here is your sadness appropriate? Are you responding in a normal way to the things that are going on in your life? Or are you on a downward spiral and not finding resolution to whatever is going on in your life the way that you should be? No matter what the answers to these questions are, you do need to do things to make you feel better, but if you are experiencing what I have just described above as depression you will need some professional help. A good starting point is you General practitioner or family doctor.
I am sorry to get into lecture mode here but depression is very serious, sadness is normal. I really wish that people would get this because to be able to tell the difference can sometimes save lives.
I will pray for you and I am here for you if you want to talk more about this.
Hugs prayers and lot of love
Alice.

Elizabeth I am sorry. Try to get out today if you can sometimes just a walk out in the open can help. Depression can make you physically sick. If there is a friend you can talk with. Talk to them, just talking to someone & telling them what you are down about can work wonders. Remember there is nothing You & God cannot handle together. It helps me to think of what my blessings are when I start feeling down(& believe me, lately that has been often) I look around me & see others in far worst circumstances & start thinking what can I do to help them. That gets my mind off my problems & I feel better./Much love my dear & consider yourself hugged./Lillian
