In our church they pair up seniors and the teens as prayer partners. My teen is turning sweet 16. Anyone have some ideas. It's a girl.

I vote for a tote bag...then make a pillowcase with her name on it to stick inside. :)

We made a pillow case together a couple of years ago and she added her name on the embroidery machine. It turned out very nice. It was a sausage pillow case. Thanks for your suggestion.

May get lucky enough to have a neat verse to put in her card.

The verse that is for her birth month and day is perfect. Thanks for the suggestion.

A cell phone pocket would be fun, I sent those JESUS bookmarks to my GD for Christmas, the ones that said it in negative colors. My GD also enjoyed her name stacked on a black tote bag done in bright florescent colors. Different shaped pillows are fun, picture frames. All those wild colors with black. Or brown and pink combinations too are good. Hope that helps.

What a great idea to mix the generations like this. You have a lot of good ideas. I ave used sewbird's designs many times.

I can't claim the responsibility for putting the two together. But is is a great idea maybe close the gap between the two generation in the future.

Have a look at Sewbird's Stitches
www.sewbird.webs.com/biblepromises
for beautifully digitized Bible verses that perhaps you can use on a project.

How about a salvation bookmark or bracelet - she could then share its meaning with others when they asked about it too. I got a corner bookmark from digistitches for my daughter and she liked it - I saw them somewhere else too but I don't remember where. Also - I don't know how well it would work with embroidery - but my daughter who is 13 has a scripture tree on her wall. Its 6 ft wide and 8 ft tall - roughly. She has origami flowers stuck to it with scripture verses inside it. She plucks a verse out daily to read. We made a smaller version of it on a poster frame for my mom that she can move around and take with her when she visits ladies in the hospital and stuff. We just used an overhead projector and painted it on the glass itself.

Do you have a pic of this it sounds like something I could do. A lot like a growth chart maybe?

My 16 year old girl still likes pillows for her room. You could put her name on it or a prayer.

She also likes dangly things on her car key chain. An FSL charm (initial, flower, number 16, smiley face) might be nice. I thought Ricky's had FSL numbers but I don't see them.

She reads a lot, so bookmarks are good.

If you know her school colors, a fleece blanket in school colors with the school name or her name on it would be nice too.

I know one of our cuties posted a FSL alphabet on here for free - don't remember if there were numbers or not though...

Those would be links 3 and 4. They don't have numbers but I put the links in case she wants to do initials.

Thanks, I found them. Cute idea.

I have a sixteen year old gd, whom I pray the Lord will give her strength to resist temptations that may shatter her future, to stand strong on principles of right and wrong, refusing to be led astray by her peers, and that she will walk daily with self-esteem and confidence that she is special, unique, and perfect, just the way she is, irregardless of things she may consider flaws and imperfections! May she greet each day feeling loved and protected, knowing He will take care of her!

I just realized you were not asking for ideas for prayer, but for a gift.

For my gd's sweet sixteenth, I made her three throw pillows to match a comforter set her mom had gotten her. The colors were hot pink and leopard print (black & white). On one of the pillows I put her name in 5x7 fancy Script. Teenage girls love keepsake items, diaries, charm bracelets, a tote bag with her name and a book of Justin Beiber!

Thanks, I really love that prayer. I'm am going to use that in the future. Someone suggested using paper towel roll or wrapping paper roll taking it apart in the spiral then writing message that they have to follow around the spiral.

This site is wonderful! Tons of free standing lace designs. They have real pretty bookmarks. You could make matching ones for their bibles. Here's the link:
