Here's a nifty little tip for closing ALL those safety pins...Put an old spoon just in front of where the tip of the safely pin will come up. While bringing the tip of the pin up, press down with the edge of the spoon and you can scoop it closed with the spoon and save your fingers. ;)

Thats the only way I know to do it. Lay it out on the floor and I start in the center going out. And yes pins are all over the place. I like to use the large one for this makes it easier to pin.

i use the pins too, they are great aren't they. You can also use a large screw to help put them on the quilt, great for saving the fingers. It is always so satisfying to finish a quilt, such a accomplishment.

That is great isn't it. I have a special tin for my pens, and do have a couple different sizes.

Do like I did after spilling pins so many times. I bought one of the magnets on a handle and just run it over the floor and table top. Works great when you spill pins on carpet - now, did I say I did that?

That a great idea I thinks theres one in late hubbys old tool box. Think it just become mine when the snow ever goes so I can get to the old barn to get it.
