If you are going to be close to Asheville, NC, the thread exchange is just down the road apiece in Weaverville. They have warehouse space with oodles of lovely thread.

There is a fabric store called Mary Jo Cloth in Gastonia - Gaston mall it has been there for 85 years it would be a place to go maybe 704 861 9100 I have a home in Troutman NC and I love to visit. Sue

Yes it is Long Creek Mills. Here is their link.You can get directions and a phone number from them. I'm heading up there this Friday to take some friends. One is our own cutie Linda.

I think that you are thinking of Long Creek Mills. They are in Gastonia - east of Charlotte, I think. I would like to get up there too. DH has not stopped either time we were up there last year. :(
