There was a bookmark posted a while back that used variegated thread. It was very pretty. You might want to go back through the pages in projects to look at it. Sorry I don't know what page it is but as of now it was not the first three.

I like to use it when doing applique designs too....... I do these out of the hoop for those small quilts that one hangs on doors and so but I guess one can use it also for in the hoop applique projects but those I still have to master lol. It can also look great when topstitching or decorative stitching on quilts and clothing. *4u

I have used varigated thread many times ---it is great on skirts of dresses and a real eye opener on single colour butterflies. regards Grummy

Oh I have seen it stitched on many things - in sewing more than embroidery, but depending on what you are looking for - it could look striped - if the stitching follows it's self and depending on the lead of the thread (how long it is between the stipes). Let us know or show us your project when you are finished. A flower for you.

I have a varigated thread in Robison-Anton called Teddy Bear Brown and it stitches up beautifully particularly in teddy bear designs.

The teddy bear brown is very very pretty on teddy bears, did a all brown dog in it one time was cute also.

letvia, I think Ruthie hit the nail on the head. One of the FSL bookmark projects was done if variegated thread - it looked wonderful - I did a FSL butterfly once with it and was please with the outcome - I have done letter and hated that - Hehehe! You will never know - unless you stitch it out what it will do. *4U
