I am stymied! Does anyone know; if a design has no format , what does that mean? I use 'pes' and all of a sudden a lot of designs don't say 'pes'. Am I missing something?

Are you talking about the web site not mentioning the format on the design?
You will find that those are usually in pes, or multi formats which includes pes.
If it is a free design, download it and see. If it is one you wish to buy, just send a message to the owner of the website and ask. There is always a contact form on every website.

Can you open them in your software and view them? will they stitch out? do they say something different from pes? I would first check that you virus software is up to date, check if the files work or not. sometime you will see a file in a folder but it just has the name and not the extension. right click and go down to properties and see what file type it says in there.

Thank you so much- I knew I could count on 'Cuties' to help me out! I did not know that properties would show the format. I still have so much to learn about computers it makes my head spin!!
