Marymoore, You can ask all questions here, that is another reason I love this site. Everyone is so kind and helpful!! I meant to say "us" not "use". I am really wacked today. to much on my feeble mind.

Hello marymoore,my advice is to you:go to www.emblibrary.com.In home page on the right-is embroideryLibrary Projects- tap that.In there on the left: Show all Technigues. There you find Freestanding Lace Instructions - Choose that. You can take a copy of that page so you can have it beside you when you are embroidering.Hope you understood me- it`s harder to write ,because my mother tongue isn`t English( my dictionary is in use-feels like I´m back in school)I`m also rather new in machine embroidery. And welcome among "cute" friends!

Mary, for Free Standing Lace, you use the heavier water soluble stabilizer, the one that looks more like regular stabilizer, not plastic wrap. Shirlener88 and Meganne have put up many FSL projects lately, bookmarks, and a dove bowl that are really nice. I'm sure they will give you more specific information on how to stabilize FSL and lots of encouragement to try it. Do take a look at their projects, they are outstanding. Again, welcome to you, and ask away, someone will know!! Marji
