I lost 1.6 last week but gained .4 this week but think perhaps the salt in some of the food may be too much now that I am also taking meds for BP..we are walking 1/2 hour each day...will see how it goes this week...you keep on doing what you are doing sounds like it is working beautifully...hugs x0x0x0 and *4U..

You are 11 lbs better than me. I have just started to recognize the importance of not just weight but mobility. And I am getting no younger. So, I signed up for the gym last week. So far, I've only used the treadmill, but looking to do more. And I have only lost in my bust...not in the gut. :---o I certainly don't have much to lose in the cups if you know what I mean. :)

Marietta, Thanks you, I totally understand about the knee replacement, and if you can get just a little bit off, it makes all the difference in the world. 25K's looks like a lot, but just do what I do take it one meal at a time. I do snack with raw veggies and fresh fruit between meals so this keeps me from over eating when I sit down to eat.

Prednisone is the worst! I have severe asthma and they keep putting me on it and I keep gaining! I did Weight Watchers twice and lost but then it comes back.

fannyfurkin by fannyfurkin 18 Jan 2011

The thing that annoys me about prednisone is that I get a long hair on my chin, Or it could just be the age I am, but it always comes when I am on prednisone.

keeponsewing by keeponsewing 18 Jan 2011

hehehe. Alice that is so funny, it sort of reminded me of Nanny McPhee. LOL...
Marion and Deb.. I know how hard it is to be on Prednisone. I think that is what put some of the wt. on me recently.

anangel by anangel 18 Jan 2011

Alice,
My doctor told me years ago that the occasional hair or two I found on my chin/neck area was just one of the signs
of decreased level of hormones in my body and menopause. I am way past that stage of life now, and fortunately, did not suffer from any bad symptoms, as I have heard many women suffer both mentally and physically during that time. The prednisone is a great anti-inflammatory medicine (steroid) that really helps ones who have severe respiratory problems. Weight gain is bad, but not being able to breathe is worst.

by dlonnahawkins 18 Jan 2011

Of course - yeah for you. Taking the weight off more slowly tends to keep it off longer - or so my doctor has told me. How some can lose 5-10 pounds a week surprises me. But, I am not one to starve myself. Just remember to bulk up your diet with veggies and fruits - that sure helps. I try to figure out how I can get more into my diet, but then I eat a lot of fresh veggies anyway. LOL

I found that if I would just stop buying all the yummy junk(cookies, chips, snack foods) and stop the nite time munching-sure does help. I finally took off the extra baggage I packed on last winter(15lbs)-I don't exercise or diet either- It's so nice to go in the closet and be able to pick out any pr of pants and know I won't have to steam stretch and squeeze into them. Keep up the good work! Kudos to you!!
