My son and daughter in law are both in school in North Carolina and being students they don't have any money. So what they did was bought baskets and in mine they put everything that I love. They put red licorice, pretzels, diet coke, paint brushes, and my favorite chocolate candy that I can't remember the name of right now!!!! Hee he he!! At Walmart they have a $5.00 bin of cds so we all got a movie that we liked. They did one for every family member and everyone was laughing while opening their gift. Sometimes the smallest gift is the best! Thought I'd share this with you all. Merry Christmas to All !!! Dawn

Great idea-and very useful(you know-the candy and chocolates!) I might just use your idea-but instead of buying a basket maybe I will make a Christmas tote bag and fill it. Thanks.

Such a great idea. My family has become too expensive for my purse. This might work. Christmas isn't about how much you spend but the thought behind it.

I think this is so wonderful. Why do some want to put a big prize tag to a gift?

Very creative kids you have there! I'd like a basket like that myself! lol Last year my ddil used a crate that clementines come in and filled it with goodies for all of us including treats for the pets! I kept the crate and use it for organizing all my sewing stuff next to my chair in the living room. Saves a lot of trips up and down the stairs!

Last year my daughter had to get a gift for everyone in her office. We went to the dollar tree and got insulated mugs put water bottles from Wal-Mart inside and tied on those flavored packets of drink mix in the bows from Walgreens. Added a small round tin of chocolate cookies also from the Dollar Tree and for under $2.50 US/dollars each employee enjoyed their gifts. This was a situation where each employee brought something to put in each of the co-workers stockings.

Think at one time or another we've all been in the short of money at Christmas and had to use our thinking caps and get creative to be able to gift those we love. Your children did a great job in this, and a lot of thought and love was put into it to get everyone just the right candies and such. Great idea will pass it on to the college kids next door.
