I agree with mel08 if you want the machine for embroidery only then the brother pr600 series is not that much more and you have a multi-needle machine. The Quatro in Australia retails for around $8000 and it is indeed a beautiful machine, it has amazing technology for quilters and crafters if you are looking for an all rounder and then it is a good option. It has the "inoveye" witch is a camera so that you can line your embroidery up and it has a little sticker that you can position to centre the design exactly where you want it. On the embroidery only side the pr1000 is out in the states already and will be here in Aus next year. I have my name on one of them as soon as they get here. It has the camera and sticker technology that the quatro has, but obviously it doesn't sew.
I have admired the technology of the quatro since it came out but I don't do quilting or other craft so I opted for the pr620.
hope that helps.

Just my 2 cents...but at that price I would check into the Brother PR600 series. That is what I did last year and have enjoyed every minute of working with the machine. I does open up new possibilities for you that can help you make a few extra $$...if that is what you might do.

They are selling new for 7,000 to 7,500 in Arizona USA. Not sure about used but that gives you an idea of the original selling prices here.
