I use either floriani or world weidner for my vilene (the fabric looking kind for FSL and ITH projects) - same for sticky for making other projects. I use regular solvy for my topper.

Hi I use OESD bagdemaster for FSL and their other stabilizers for other things. I also use Joanne's fabric wash away for towel toppings. It is thin but works fine. You can double it up if you need to. Suzanne

Good Morning,
I use allstitch for my stabilizer. They offer alot of different types. They will even send out a sample pack at your request(for free) so that you can see them first hand. Here is the link

I much prefer Fabric Type WSS. It is very stable and you can even get away with using only one layer. I have added the link below to where I purchase mine from, they often put it on special and frequently have free postage within USA.
Being as I'm in Australia, I have found their postage to Aus extremely reasonable and combined total price is still cheaper than anywhere I can buy from here in Aus.

Don't know if there is a right or wrong way to do it. I find that hot (as hot as your fabric and embroidery will allow of course) is better than cold.
