letvia, I came here to answer your question, but two reasons I won't, 1) you have been given a lot of very helpful advice by other people who obviously know what they are talking about, and, 2) I see you have followed that advice, good for you. So pleased that the car turned out good, and I doubt that anyone else would pick that it wasn't perfect - we're all far more critical about our own projects than others. Have a fun day and here's a flower for you.

Thank you ruthie, I love this place, everybody is so nice and friendly. This is my first embroidery machine; my husband gave to me last Christmas and I am a rookie in all this things. A flower for you too!!!!

Stick around letvia, you'll learn heaps of stuff here, not just about machine embroidery either. It's a beautiful, friendly and caring place, thanks very much to everyone who contributes on these pages.

You can rethread the needle and use your minus- back key to back up to where u left off, or if you took off the hoop, use your plus-key to forward to where u left off.

I have two Brother machines. Where abouts are the tires? Can you see the step to step color changes on your screen. Do you have the ability to skip color changes and go to the first color of the tires? As long as your design is still in the hoop it doesn't matter which Brother you have you will be able to go back to that part of the design. However with the 190D you may have to start at the beginning and hold the screen button until you reach the part where your machine skipped. With the standalones, they will only back-up so far. Thus starting at the beginning is the best way as it will take you all the way through the design. If you have a more advanced machine that allows you to + through the color changes and even has the stitch counts you can quickly skip to the place in your design that is missing. good luck

Thank you very much, I did what you said and I finally could fix the design, it is not perfect but is not that bad. Thanks again. A flower for all of you.

Puff is right. Do not take the material out of the hoop. In that case you can back up several stitches. Either by way of a button you can press or by way of a menu. The simpler Brothers like the 190D have 'Help', then a choice of backward (a number of stitches), or search backward (a colour block). Your manual will tell you all about it.
If you did unhoop the only thing you can do is sew the design on a patch you then applique on top of the original. Use an appliqued circle design directly in the hoop or else do it on your sewing machine. First option gives a better result, at least when I try it. Then you can either leave the original underneath or cut it away afterwards. Have been there and done it. Good luck.

I have a Brother se270d.I didn't take it out of the hoop.I just put the thread back in the machine and tried to continue with the design but when the machine finished I saw that the tire was missing and I tried to go back to embroider it again but I couldn't. It looks like I have to embroider the whole design again.

That depends on your machine (consult the manual). But basic if your fabric is still in the hoop, you can put it back in the machine, also if you have shut of the machine. You just need a little patience to go through the design (without actually sewing, just "jump" in the design) until you are back on the spot where it failed.

do not remove design from hoop, retread machine and push start and it should start right where it left off. If it went a couple stitches past back your design up. I have a janome so know how to do it on it but do not know why type machine you have.
I hope this will help you. Puff
