HALMARK OR POSTCARD. With the holidays coming alot of e-cards are sent! When someone is infected they don't know it and sends out the virus though there e-mail address book. Virus Protections can not detect or warn you it's there!!!! If you don't know who the person in that is e-mailing don't open. Dawn

I had to shut down the Lab so that the other computers though out the school didn't get infected. While other people were saying it was just a joke gag hoax I was dealing with it!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the warnings. I think my hot mail was hijacked too. What do they do when they get your address and send everyone email with no subject. I got one from my niece and it had advertisements from a Canadian pharmacy. I then one with my sisters name, I didn't open that one. Now I don't know if they got into my mailbox or what.It is a shame that people have nothing better to do than tear up the property of others. Computers and software are not cheap and they should be ashamed. Just venting, thanks

This is a hoax, go to

Commentary:
According to this emailed warning, a virus is currently being distributed that will destroy the hard drive on the infected computer and has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. The message claims that opening an email attachment named "POSTCARD" or "POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK", will open a postcard image that will "burn" the entire hard disk on the infected computer and destroy the disk's "zero sector".

However, the claims in the warning message are untrue. As explained later in the article, the warning is just a newer variant of older virus hoaxes that have circulated for several years. Unfortunately, this variant has gained completely undeserved credibility due to the following factors:

Seems as if I head about this one a while back I guess it is still out there. And don't open any that say about your IRS refund or your UPS delivery.

I have gotten many of the UPS ones in the past and they are marked for my spam folder. I knew it has to spam since I didn't order anything though them using my email

I guess snail mail is best for tax refunds or refunds that go straight into your bank account .Just bounce the viagra ones etc back & block the sender .I haven't had any more since

THANK YOU sewlikedawn! I hate those things and I think the people to 'invent' them should be ashamed of themselves as the viruses can cause so much stress to people who have lost everything on their computers.
Thanks again, Kathy

Thank you Dawn. We are warned about these things every year but sometimes need a reminder. I have sent your warning to all in my address book. Have put the date as these e-mails can easily be dismissed as being OLD. *4U. Marg
