Good answer from jofrog2000. When I started quilting I would draw my pattern over and over until I had a meandering, or any pattern, in my head before I decided to go to the machine. I ended up purchasing a dry erase board from Wal-Mart so I could repeat the pattern. I use this any time I want to start a new pattern. Good luck! I'm sure you'll do well.

Just takes some practice to get used to doing it. Check this link for some information on stippling. Do a google search for machine stippling, and you'll find quilting sites, videos on utube-lots of good stuff there-and more. I layer my quilt-top, batting, bottom, and just quilt. You don't need stabilizer. Also, you can use ME designs created just for quilting. Quick and easy.

Make a practice piece with top, bottom and batting. I was hesitant the first few times, but it does get easier. Lower the feed dogs, step on the pedal to go fast, and move the sandwich. You can stop anytime and reposition your hands. You can grab the material, wear those gloves with the dots on them to move it around, or there are rubber finger covers to give some friction. I think a description said puzzle pieces and Mickey Mouse ears.
