Dont get rid of anything, be like me (I'll use that one day) and I want you to have a messy sewing room just like me, at least we know where every thing is that way or are you preparing for a BIG spend up to fill empty spaces. LOL macgraw

I just keep telling myself....."Next year, Gadget, next year!!!"

OK ..... let's be honest..... there is no solution.....if you lost it all in a fire (the only real way to clear out a creative nest) you'd be devastated .... just be thankful you've got a great big mess to play in....... :}

Good luck. Every time I think I have my room clean and organized, I start another project and what I need is always on the bottom. Well, you know how it goes. Do the best you can. I promise not to crtitize your room if you promise to say nothing about mine.

Oh My....I'm still waiting for my DH to get me a storage unit in the back of the house and wire it up to make me a sewing room, THEN I will clean out. hehehe... Until then, can't help you. I'm a pack rat when it comes to fabric. I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE, my fabric. I have large ziplock bags of scrap fabric just for my badges and applique. I would hate to buy new fabric just to applique something. hehehe...Oh wait a minute! That's why I have so many scrap bags to begin with. hehehe.

Do as I say, not as I do, lol! If you have that much you need the clear plastic tote containers and stack them on top of each other to the ceiling if need be. For material you won't need soon you can buy those zip bags that the vacuum cleaner sucks the air out of to flatten. My problem with those is I have yet to find one that keeps the air out, they never work for me! My room is tiny and is a Computer/sewing/TV room that the cat sleeps in and she is old so I have to also have a litter box in here, how to deal with that? My clothes are all in here too because we have very tiny closets, what a mess! Good luck!

Hi I hear you!! Anyone who is creative has a mess. Just make a path to the sewing machine and you will be fine. Put the blinders on. Eventually you will get it staightened out. Then when you do you will have more room to bring in more stuff you NEED. Chin up just look at one small pile at a time and deal with that . don't spend more than an hour at a time doing it. before you know it you will be finished. Good luck .Suzanne

I will soon be facing the same thing. Hubby wants to change the flooring in there and had me out looking for the appropriate vinyl wood look. Right now there is carpeting. I will have to move everything so I may as well sort and clean at the same time. It will be hard to choose what to get rid of. Sure as I get rid of something, I will need it within a week! Hugs, Mary

I really feel you. When I recently moved to another state. I had to get rid of 20 years worth of things in my sewing room. Almost all of what I didn't keep went to local charties. Now that I am settle into a new sewing room and thought I had it straighten out, I still can't find anything. So my fun is recreating my designs from scratch. I wish you much luck.

Now when you want that little piece of fabric or some other little thing you will not be able to find it. So just go lightly. Marg

Can sympathise - have been driven to this many times; usually because I haven't been able to find something crucial that I need to complete a project. Just think how many ideas you will get when you find long lost items in your stash. Our charity shops (UK) love habby donations - I usually end up buying something, which rather defeats the object... (last time was 6m of beautiful linen for £3).

Ava, my suggestion is get rid of whatever you haven't used in a long while - before you know it - you have room for everything - you can donate or throw the items away - but whatever you do - you have to make room for your creativity to flow and pray. I might have to do that myself - Hehehe!

Do as I say--not as I do! Just get out those trash bags, fill 'em up, and don't look back! I fill them up and then put everything back :) That's my best effort of re-cycling!
