I sewed french like seams on the outside of the store bag and turned it inside out and put my design on what would have been the inside. Turned out good.

I have just embroidered designs ove the logo. I know Joanns and Walmart sells the bags for $1.00. The logo gets covered up and I end up with a unique bag. Mary

You can use canvas. duck, poplin, old jeans just about anything that is sturdy. Have fun look around see what you like . Hope this helps . Suzanne

Why not use old blue jean material? What could be better than that? Sturdiest I know. You can embroider and put embellishments on them.
I have had a couple bags break on me. The handles broke, etc.
I have quite a few for now as I got them for nothing and fixed them up a bit. My next ones are going to be what I make and decorate!

Here are plain ones. Just search recycled shopping bags. Lots of places have them. Hugs, Terre

Don't know what it is called, think it is made from recycled material but margiepink has the good idea!

JoAnn's Fabrics/Crafts sells that material. If not buy one in your favorite color without much advertising on and do an applique over the store's name. I did and it turned out beautiful.
