Because the aussie dollar and the usa dollar are nearly equal I thought why not look at threads in USA. went to Metro threads and they are all on special so I bought some. Price was $2.00 difference for my whole purchase. Any aussie wanting to buy designs or anything from overseas should do it now....

Just have to wait for them to arrive now. I don't know how they will sew on my machines Janome 300E and Husqvarna Designer 1 any one have ideas how these threads will go on these machines. I'm excited!!!!!

Thank you for all this information!!!!
I have just ordered the 66 spool basic set, too, as well as some variegated thread and prewound bobbins.
I'm having them sent to me daughter in Arizona and I'll collect them when I get there in four weeks' time.
If the Metro sale is still on then, and if I can't get the stabiliser I want at Jo-Ann's, I'll put in an order for the Metre stabiliser as well.

From what I have read on other groups you shouldn't have any problems.
I buy all my supplies from the USA, I figure if I help keep their economy afloat it will benefit everyone, because we sure as hell all suffered when it went down.

No, seriously though, even when our dollar was less, it is still cheaper to buy most things from the States than what we can get the same thing for, here in Aus. Needles, threads, stabiliser, marking pens, scissors, you name it, I've bought it and saved a LOT of money.

Even my new Elna Xquisite 2 cost me $2,500 less than what I paid for my first one and it works better.

The only problem is, when I showed Hubby how to shop online in the States, I created a monster. He now has every Makita power tool you can imagine. And I say more power to him! LOLOLOL!!!!

I'm a miser when it comes to buying for myself, if I can't get a good price, I go without.
Did I ever mention my Grandmother was Scottish????

Enjoy your shopping and if you want more bargains join ShoppersRule.com......

I have quite a few of the metro threads and my designer 1 doesn't have a problem with it at all. The only problem is it sometimes comes off the spool to fast in the very beginning, no problem I just plunk it on my thread stand and I'm off and running. My neighbor has a Singer Futura and it works well on her machine also. Have fun you'll love it...........

The Metro threads are great for the designer I. I also have a Janome 10000 amd that machine is a bit more picky on the threads. I did not always have good luck with the Metro on that machine. I think you got a good deal. Enjoy your new purchase. Hugs, Mary
