stitching my designs out until I got use to both the new job and the heat here. Well today I decided to test stitch a new design and forgot how to use my brother. I laugh at myself because I have had this machine for four years now. the funny thing is I didn't forget how to use my Husky. Maybe I just need to start embroidering more often. Also once I test this holloween design out, I will upload it to cuties for all. The only two hints I will give you is, it is fsl and for your front door. So look for it in a few days.

Oh so the old saying once you learn to ride a bike you never forget, doesn't apply to sewing? hehehe...I was stationed at Lackland and Brooks AFB back in the early 70's. ;) I haven't checked out the DBC yet, so I'm heading over there to see if you have completed our surprise. Hugs Terre

Sounds like you're getting all settled now. Don't worry about forgetting things, that's what the Cuties are here for!
Can't wait to see your new designs. Happy Stitching.

Thanks for the hugg. A part of getting older is remembering what you have learn along the way. I am still laughing at myself.

Hope you aren't in Houston.I moved there after Christmas last year and I can say for sure I hated it. I moved back to Alabama in Aug. and so glad the house didn't sell so I could come back.Out side of Houston may have been better but the big city and the traffic were not my cup of tea.

I am in San Antonio and I know just how you feel. Our house in South Carolina hasn't sold yet either and I do miss it. But I think my husband would have a fit if I moved back there.

I think it's called a temporary brain fart! Hate to admit it but I've had those on occasion.

Yep, you're not embroidering enough, but never fear you've not forgotten everything you knew....just get in that mind of yours and dust off the gears....I have to do this myself...darn cobwebs anyway. Looking forward for your upload. Have a blessed day.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who goes into Twilight Zone!I now have an small dry eraser board on my wall showing checklist before I embroider or sew. Seems I kept forgetting to put correct feet on.And I forget how to do my buttonholes.(tab toward back)Regarding Texas, this was a mild summer.(2009 had over 3 months of no rain, 100 degree days)Welcome to the Lone Star State.

I understand. Whatever the reason you have forgotten a skill. Just tell yourself you packed that memory in an unmarked box that you have not unpacked yet. Good way to provoke your cognative AND empty those last few boxes that escaped your attention.

I think you are right, I still have boxes and can't find things.

I have my first embroidery machine tucked behind a drawer space in my sewing area. I have not had it out for ever so long. I know that I would not know how to use it, but seems I can't even give it away. LOL It is a Viking Iris, I used it very little, and would be great for a young girl wanting to sew, and some embroidery. Isn't it remarkable what we forget from time to time. LOL

You just have to get it out and set it up. Then look at it everyday and then start small. I still us my first embroidery machine which is a Husky.

Well, I can't wait to see what I can put on my door but I bet it won't fit my 4 by 4 hoop anyway :(

Yes, it will. Even though I made it for the 4x4 hoop, I just want to stitch a lot of pieces out at one time.

Hope you enjoy Texas. My best friend moved to Austin 2 years ago so we have been regular visitors. I don't know how you'll get used to the heat and how dry it is. I'm in KY and I thought it got hot here! Good luck to you, and enjoy your new home.

My husband just got back from Austin. We live in San Antionio. When it is hot, you drink tons of water. But now it is starting to cool down to the 90's.

Not that problem with sew/emb machines but needed to use my table saw and don't have a clue how to set it up and can't locate the book for it.

I wish you luck in finding the book, but if not, I love going to lowes or home depot and asking the sales people there questions.

It is now starting to cool down to the low 90's maybe that is why I am starting to stitch again.
