It could also be that your crotch seam is'nt long enough in front, so the pants are pulling the back crotch seam up. But honestly it does sound like a straight of grain error. Send a picture,,,,,that will help.
Sounds perhaps you did not have the pattern laid out correct with the straight of the grain. If it''s cut a little on the bias this can happen. *
I agree with several here, without a picture of it it's hard to tell. It could be the fabric. It could also be the way you put the elastic in. It could be your inseam is off. There are several ideas for you to go back and check. Hope you find your problem... Nothing like a crooked seam, especially when you wear it. hehehe....
A picture would really be helpful. What type of fabric is it? Knit? Woven? If knit, it's possible that the inside leg seam isn't sewn correctly, the tension could be off and pulling the seam tight. In this case take the seam out and re-sew it making sure the stitching is not pulling at all.
Another problem could be the way the pants lay on you personally. Would making the hem crooked to fit your body work? I Have several family members with one leg 1/2 - 3/4 shorter than the other and I hem their dresses crooked but it looks straight on them.
Hi! I was just going to ask the same question that Margie pink, it looks like fabric grain, what kind of fabric is it? Good luck!
Can't be sure without actually seeing them but it sounds like the material is being pulled up on your hips higher than the front and back seams, can you take out the elastic and maybe use some not so wide or make the casing not as high on the sides? Or maybe it is the opposite, casing is too wide at the front and back seams and needs pulled up on the hip sides. Good luck!
It sounds like the fabric to me. Did you cut the fabric on the straight of grain? Also did you pre-wash and dry the fabric before cutting? Sent you a flower as well.
lexusblu - see that you cut the pattern of the pants - front and back - a little longer (3cm / 1 inch) on the top side where you put the elastic in.
it will fit better and dont pull up.
hope it will help !!!!!!!!
I am not a seamstress so I cannot help you...only give you a flower to make it better.....
