This is a set of pillowcases I did last week. I used a real heavy wash away stabilizer. Once I was finished I washed and ironed them.

This is very pretty. Where did you get the bride and groom design?

I have found using a wash away stabalizer doesn't pucker. I recently found a tear- wash away stabalizer that is great. I have also done the embroidery on organza first and then trim away and zig zag to my garment that way if I mess up it isn't a big loss.

If you are making them yourself, I make them first, then do the emb on the band! By marking the exact center on the band, it always works. BUT my problem is I can NOT seem to find a stabilizer that keeps it from puckering!! I really don't want to iron on another stabilizer on the back of the band. Next one I make, I think I'm going to try an iron on between the band when I fold it over before sewing it on the base of the case. I've tried different kinds of stabilizer. Tried steaming the stabilizer before using it in case IT shrinks. Still have puckering!!

The only problems with doing pairs of anything is to make sure you measure and mark the same distance on each item so they will be lined up evenly. A pen that has dissapearing ink it what I use. The same thing goes for your towels. Sometimes there are only one side seam on pairs or anything so you need to make sure that you put the embroidery so the seams will be going the same way on each item. I always put the seams going to the back(or head of the bed) on pillow cases. It is according to the size of the design as to where to place it but I only use the hemmed area on pillow cases to put a design. It just seems to me that it would be more comfortable not to have to sleep on the embroidered area. Of course there are no set rules to do anything that is original so if you want to be different, try it out! If the design is going to look different sewing it with the seams going the same way, reverse the design on your machine. Nothing is set in stone when you are sewing your own master-piece!!! Good luck. I hope I answer what you were looking for but if not, someone else will come along and let you know how they do there placing. Good Luck!

I take out the side seam, then use two layers of tear away stabilizer. I hoop the stabilizer and the pillowcase fabric. Make sure that you place the design on the opposite side for the second pillowcase. I make them so that the side seam ends up at the bottom when placed on the bed. When the design has finished stitching out, remove from hoops and tear away the stabilizer. Resew the side seam. Hopefully this is clearer then mud. ***

I've never done one but many here have and posted in projects. Maybe you can go there (projects postings) and get some ideas. I'm sure someone will come along later and answer your question. Sorry I couldn't help.
