I couldn't beleive it! I was devasted!!! It was my son's bike and my bike. We even backed into the parking spot that was right by the Front Desk where they had big picture windows. Our bikes were highly visable by the staff but yet no one saw anything! It happened sometime between 11pm and 7am, as the evening clerk (a friend of mine) saw them when she went home at 11pm.

BUT, there is good news......they were found - albeit not in the same shape they were taken in! I ran into a friend of mine as we were hanging up a "Stolen" poster and he said he saw a bike that looked similar to my son's. We drove over to where he said he saw it and sure enough it was! There was a part broken on it and it was missing the rear tire with the disc brakes, but at least it is still fix-able. We hung up a few more flyers and also emailed ANYONE AND EVERYONE I could think of who lived in that town and my email blast paid off. We then started our journey to our new home - 2.5 hrs later than we wanted to leave. About 4+ hrs into our drive, I got a call on my cel phone - one of the people I emailed called to say they found my bike! OMG!!! I was so happy I almost cried!!! The basket onthe front of my bike was missing and the front fender is broken, but that's allthat wrong with it I was told.

This all just happened last Sunday, so I still don't have my bike, but I am hoping. My friend brought it back to the hotel and they are asking guests that are traveling my way to see if they can also bring my bike with them. I asked if they could pay to have it shipped to me, but they already asked head office and the big-wigs said no. Poopy!!! So, now we just have to save up about $400 to have both our bikes fixed.

Rita, I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't know what the world is coming to... We broken into a couple of weeks back. (workshop)... My husband is still devastated over that, the place is lock up tight like fort knox. He's remove the key for the building so even his son can't get to it. We think he had something to do with it.... I hope you get your bike fixed. They aren't cheap anymore...

How very sad when you can't even trust your own family anymore. However, I know how that goes because there's a certain family member I don't trust at all anymore - and haven't for years now.

Moving is hard enough but stolen and damaged bikes on top of it... I am so sorry that you now have to save up to repair the bikes. But I am so glad that they were found.

Rita, I am so thrilled for you to be moving into a new home - so sorry to hear that your bikes were stolen - that is just awful - I will be praying for you - to find a way to get them and also to get them repaired. We have a couple bikes that we love and cherish - they had always been our source of recreation - now they sit in storage - hoping one day to have two people well enough to ride them again. Moving is never easy - I hope that you and your family find lots of happiness in your new home and community. Hugs, Shirlene

Thank you, Shirlene. I'm hoping to get them fixed before the weather turns bad. I really want to ride around the Seawall at Stanlet Park in Vancouver, BC. I did ot once with my hubby years ago and I know my daughter would love that ride now. These are my dreams, so hopefully we can get them fixed soon.
