Choose your design, then sort thread colours.
You might want to change only a few of what the design says. Lay your thread spools on the fabric to see.
I have found that a darker/lighter shade is all that is needed to show up the design. Sometimes the colour will fade into the background fabric and be disapointing.
Please show us when your your project is done. The silk is so luxurious.

I agree with Psssst. Chose your design first and then think about how you would color that. Bottle green and shocking pink are jewel tones so I would try to keep your colors in a jewel tone blending to sherbert tones and then pastels.

Any color that comes from God would look beautiful! Look at flower gardens there are pinks and greens - yellow, purple, red, so many that all compliment eachother. Do you have a special design in mind for the fabrics?
