they do not have birthday and she is only one acquaintance. The towel has a small picture and name, which is on the first letter of the name, something like Monogramm or something. I will not money deserve with the towel, but the embroidery thread and other things are cost money. What would you demand? I have no idea.

Good Luck with this one, I remember a long time ago here someone with a similar question with someone who kept asking for little bits of embroidery. They eventually charged. People without the skills and equipment often have no idea what is involved and all the extras like the thread and backing. Sorry I cant help with the priceing but aim higher you have a skill

Thank you all. Hanna56 you're right, it's much embroidery. It's like a towel, what I have already uploaded in projects. But I think € 7 is not too much for the embroidery, without the towel.

Just a thought... maybe instead of cash you can ask for new towels and or embroidery supplies in exchange.

I find it very hard to set a price for acquaintances and hardly dare to mention it to them, so I mostly ask is €3.50 too much. Which is of course a totally wrong attitude, I should mention a price in a convincing manner, especially as they always want something that needs some digitising to get it exactly as they want it. I know if I don't embroider it they have to go to the nearest city, pay at east twice that for a standard name and have their petrol and parking to pay for.

Don't ask too little, once you've done that it's hard to up your price!

I also don't have much Business Sense and am shy. I have given away lots of hard work for free, because I didn't know what to really charge.
Now I say, I will get back to them with the price. This gives me a chance to work out a resonable price with no pressure. It also helps to write down the amount you want. Then I phone back to confirm before I start that project.
Do take into consideration your valuable time spent on that project.
Wishing you well!

This is good advice. I'm kinda shy myself and am never sure what to charge, so I also do an awful lot of sewing for free.

Hallo,
Viel Erfolg

I have done a couple towels for people before. I charged $10 for the embroidery. If you had to buy the towel also, then I would also charge for that plus maybe an extra $2 (or whatever) for gas and time of going to the store to get it).
