What can that be?

I have a Bernina 730, and whenever I embroider, stop the machine and shows me that the lower thread is not properly or empty. I can embroider and then it also looks quite normaly on the bottom . But if I take out the bobbin, then it is not wound properly. I wanted to upload a picture, but at -ask the community- it doesn't go. I hope, that anyone can help me. Because I'm not particularly in English, I pose the question in German and English.

Hello Cuties
My machine is good again. I have give it a thorough cleaning, and cleaning the bobbin. And I have changed the bobbin. Because I have bobbins with holes and bobbins without holes. Now I take only the bobbin with holes.
Thanks for all the good advice.

I don't know what type of machine you have, but try taking out the bobbin casing and give it a thorough cleaning. With my machine, there is a tiny sensor that tells when the bobbin is empty, and if the sensor has lint or thread on it, it does not "see" the bobbin volume, so it tells you the bobbin is empty or to check the bobbin.

I use a pipe cleaner bent in half to collect all the lint and thread bits from inside this area and from all the nooks and crannies around there. It's amazing how much debris can collect in that small space! I try to clean it out before I start a new project, and I'm still finding silver thread bits from a project I did last Christmas.

One time when I explained to a Technician what was happening, he told me about the sensor, and how to clean this area. He saved me a lot of money in repair and tune-up expenses.

i have a 730 and the bobbin has been a problem since day1. the dealer replaced my machine with a floor model and this one is much better, but still VERY picky about bobbin thread. the dealer suggested to use oesd bobbin thread and it does do better, i turned the message about the bobbin off.
the best i can say is good luck and post whatever fixes the problem because i will be anxious to read! i fixed my problem last week by buying another machine!!

Im wondering if you put the bobbin back in, the right way up? Sounds so simple but I've done this myself (put the bobbin in up-side-down) and ohhhh my what a mess it makes. Hope your fix is just as easy. xXx

I have the same machine. Can you keep embroidering and ignore the message or will it not let you keep going? My machine is also super sensitive to a piece of lint or thread and this message comes up. but i can keep going. have you tried that?

Yes, I can embroider on. The machine tells me and then she stops and stops and stops again. The embroidery is then very good. Only the lower thread is a bit confused.

question? Did you do your own winding? Or did you buy your bobbin pre-wound? It looks more like problem with the tension on the bobbin, since it is pulling out loosely. I buy pre-wound bobbins, but did have one recently that became tangled like that before I put it in. I threw it away. I didn't want trouble. :)

Yes, I do my own winding.

I agree with claude. Try pre-wound bobbins and see if it does the same.

I have the same machine as you and my machine has spent more time at the shop being fixed than at home with me. Are you using the right bobbin case because there are two. One for embroidery and one for sewing??? It will do that to your bobbin if not the right bobbin case. Need more help here's my e-mail. pereirarealty@verizon.net.

Hope I was helpful.

oooh that just happened to me the other day...I had to stop clean out the bobbin compartment about 5 different times...changed the bobbin spool and then changed my needle...I think my needle somehow got bent just a very small amount any way I got it to work after all that...I might suggest a new bobbin and a new needle first...deanna
