Elizabeth, I see you have your answer. Basically school glue/paste will work. Just thin it out and apply it with a straight pin/needle. I use a pin because it is the smallest end of anything I have in my sewing room.

I've used Elmers glue. It dries clear and works well. Just put a very little amount on the fabric.

You could try fabric glue. Just water it down a little to make it easier to apply.
