Oh Chris, It's difficult to remember how much work it is when the kitchen is being renovated.
The lamb shanks in the slow cooker sounds wonderful; would love to have that recipe. Hope you can find your slow cooker.
Good luck with all of the renovation work. Just think of how nice it will be when it's finished!
Love,
J
You are right about that Jacqui. Trevor found my slow cooker yesterday and my electric frying pan hooray!!!!
I've just found out yesterday we have Trevor's brother and wife coming to stay with us this Thursday!!!!!! It's going to be fun getting breakfast etc. As it turns out the 1st July is Dana's birthday and we are all going out for dinner, that's one less meal to prepare!
The flooring people are coming here on Friday (Trevor and I both have to work) so Craig (Trev's brother) will be here to help out. They are putting down a masonite floor base so that when the lino goes in after the kitchen has been place at least the floor will be really even.
I can't wait to see it all finished only a couple of weeks to go now!
Love and blessings Chris
This sounds like it will be a dream of a kitchen when you are finished. Me I'd much rather be at my machine then at the stove cooking. *
Amen to that! Thanks for commenting Lillian - I can't wait. I've just had the removalist van take away the old kitchen - we sold it on EBAY to a lady down on the central coast about an hour away. Love and blessings Chris
Have fun with the new kitchen! We lived on sandwiches and microwave food, It was OK. DH BBQd once in while too. Can't wait to see the new kitchen!
That's what I'm hoping for too - I bought Trevor a huge bbq for his 60th last month. The problem is here at the moment it's dark by 5.30 and he doesn't get home usually till later. I'll let him know it would be great to do that for a while anyway!!!!!
Love Chris
I do know what you are going through. DH remodeled our kichen a few years back (when he was still working), and I was without a kitchen for over a month. But, he took everything to the studs, and even moved walls for the pantry and frige. But, once he got started the project just grew and grew - and we added another room or two. LOL! It is great to get a new kitchen. Lucky you.
Hi Dlonna,
That's what happened in our previous home - once we started we ended up doing the whole house. It took 6 months and the family were 13,15 and 17 an horrendous time especially with one child doing his HSC (last year of school). Anyway we survived. Trevor said last night he is getting too old for this sort of stuff. I'm hoping this will be the last time we do anything like this.
This was meant to be our holiday to Canada/Alaska. I told him we can do it in 2012!
I can't wait till we get the new kitchen though it's gorgeous - very simple but chic!
love chris
You will get the hang of doing this without the kitchen - just about the time - that you get the new one in. Hehehe!
That's exactly right Shirlene - I need a little fairy to come over and find exactly what I'm needing. I may have to get Amy to help again. She is coming over tomorrow - I'm going to ask her to find some of the things I'm needing.
We are going to make some baby wraps. When I was down in Sydney with Meganne, Pauline and Irene I bought some beautiful interlock with Babushka's on it. Only days before I bought some applique designs from JUJU! Can't wait to try them.

I would say that you are making the best of the situation. I grew up with a family who liked to rip a room apart and redo it. As a result, I hate construction projects. Can't wait to see the final pitures. I know it will be a gogeous kitchen.
What fun a new kitchen! So ready to have my kitchen updated! Can't wait to see the pictures! So happy for you!
What fun! You should see the rest of the house - the loungeroom is full of the kitchen units in pieces - the back room which is our entertaining room is full of boxes of kitchen "stuff". I can't find anything to cook with - so that's one good thing! Take-away for a while!
I've been through this before when we lived elsewhere, so I'm looking forward to the new kitchen.
Love chris
1. The old kitchen in situ on Monday 21st June. Nice and neat. Looking towards the end of the house.
2. The old kitchen looking towards the stairs.
3. Looking towards where the stove used to be(end of the house). We moved the fridge out into the dining room - may keep it there once all the rest is done. We have a new stainless steel double door fridge being put in.
4. Looking towards the hall door where the freezer is.
5. Looking from the back room towards where the freezer is.
Can't wait to see the new kitchen.Sound like you are having fun doing this, enjoy. Hugs Lynn
