prayers for your son,I can imagine this must hurt you as a mom.so hugs and prayers for you too.and i agree is this all neccesary? I would hate it too!
I know this is rigid, strict training, but look at it this way, this training may save his life one day. It's hard for us as mothers to see our children go through things like this. I shall pray for him & you as well. Him that he will be able to make it through. You that you will be able to cope with what he is enduring./Lillian
Thanks Lillian,I believe in pray & i know it is working,he followed a dog in the black of night looking for drugs.I am sure angels are helping him see them as he found them.Carolyn
Prayers going your way ..mothers have to be so strong.
Yes you are so right Jeff is so big & strong but that don't matter against ,bullets, gas etc. But prays work & he is safe Carolyn
Will certainly pray for him. Sounds like what my nephew has gone through in the Marines, to be prepared. He can't tell us about much of what goes on, but he was terribly ill after being in Afghanistan on a previous tour, and eating a goat that was prepared by a local Afghan tribe of men. Was ill for weeks afterwards.
Your son will save lives after this training.
I will pray for both you and Jeffrey - his training might sound harsh, but it will mean he will be able to save lives; he is incredibly brave and generous to want to do this and you should be so proud to be the mother of such a fine young man. Much love from Dianne x x x
Thanks Dianne i am proud but it scares me.I will try to be brave!!!Thanks for careing enough to write Carolyn
Carolyn, I'm sure we can't understand all the reasons behind the training (I had to think about why the bricks, but then what if he were CARRYING someone hurt on his back, they would be a lot heavier than 50#) but I DO understand the love & concern of a mother. And the prayers she knows he needs to succeed in this. Will be praying for him AND you! And be sure & let us know when he completes the program!!
I will let you all know when he is done he is a policeman for 10 years but he wants more to do!!
Imagine the pride you will feel when your son tells you of his first real life rescue! Imagine his pride he will feel! God put it into his mind and his heart to follow this calling, trust in God, your son and the program. They are training him for worst case scenario which is how it should be. If someone I love needs to be rescued I want the best man for the job doing it. I imagine some men would think of it as fun as well as rewarding to endure this program and succeed. My prayers for your son that he passes this training and never has to use it in his duties.
Carolyn, I am an AF wife and I understand how you feel. Please understand that the training is purposely made to be very tough to get through. This training is developed to save lives, and that includes the lives of the rescuers. He has to want to succeed because it is not easy to rescue anyone out in the wilds, especially if he is rescueing a buddy under less than optimum circumstances. I assure you, that the trainers do not want him or any of the other trainees to be hurt. They are monitored for physical and mental needs. I will be praying for him and his fellow trainees and for peace of mind for you. Let us know how he makes out.
My dearest Carolyn,
I don't know if my prayers will help you, I'm in a lack of faith right now, but I will pray, and most of all, you and your son will be in my thoughts and wishes that he will overcome these trainings with any kind of harm or injury. Love and my warmest wishes to you, Yoriko
Carolyn, yes I will pray for Jeffrey. We can understand your concern for him but if he truly wants this line of work all the support he can get will help him get through it. As you know, there will be so many prayers going up for him since you requested them. Will also pray for you as you watch him go through things that hurt you for him.
God bless, Judy *4U
I am so grateful that your boys are getting such intense training to save those of us who need saving.
It seems hard to you I know, but in the end it will all be worth it.
Love and blessings and I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers Chris
Oh dear that brings back memories of my daughters basic training. I will pray for Jeffrey that he will get through this training and pass. I will pray for you too that you might be less anxious.
Yes but i still think they give them a gun & they don't shot them just so they know how that feels .Its plain dumb!!!
Carolyn, I will be praying for Jeffrey - it sounds like he is getting some intense training - to know what could or would happen to him - or to others - it does sound stupid that he has to go through all of that - but if they feel it is necessary for his training - then who are we to judge - right now - you are looking at it - as his mother and not as the woman - that will be so very proud of her son - when he completes the training and is safe because of it. I will pray for you, too.
