I do this in my software, I have viking 4D and I have a color sort button that merges all the colors into 1 stitch rather than each one on it's own, very nice for doing just what you are asking. My merge button just merges the letters together but not the colors maybe look to see if anything says color sort.

Are you trying to do this in your machine? Or using software? My BabyLock machines do this automatically when I pull the letters up. I can also do it using Embird software using 'merge' command. If your Pfaff doesn't do this automatically, you might want to consider trying one of the embroidery software programs, like Embird. Best of luck to you!
My machine (an 11 year old Designer1) has a button marked 'stop' that's normally on, when I set it off the machine stitches the whole design in one and the same colour. Have a look in your manual, their might be an easy way to do it with your machine too.
I wish I could help but my machine does it on its own and it is different from yours. I am sure that someone will come along and give you some good ideas! Have a wonderful day! Linda
the only way I know of doing this is by editing the design changing each colour to say red as you move along changing each one to red you should get them automaticly merging as a colour change is also a stop I know it works in Embird and customizer Make sure you do a save as that way your original file stays hope that helps Hugs Shazells
