Not familiar with your machine, but I use Metro without any problem. Check your tension since your having problems with loops on top and bottom sounds like a tension problem. Check and make sure you don't have any thread or lint around the bobbin and or any thread in the top of machine that is broken or jammed in your upper parts. Does it do it with any pattern you use or just one. It could be a bad emb design also. It can be rather frustrating when these things happen but don't give up you will win in the end. Let us know how it turns out.
I have a designer SE too and I love Metro thread. The only time I have trouble with it is on Satin Stitch. I finally found out the other night when I tightened my tension a bit it worked a lot better. I have some trouble also with it stripping on high speeds when I'm doing FSL but if you slow your speed and loosen your tension just one click it helps with that. I do think though that their white thread is thinner I'm going to write them about that. This is the first time I've used there thread. But the colors seem to work better than the white. I love the colors and the sheen though and you sure can't beat the price. Blessins'

Thanks for your great advice too! I fine it works great on embroidery but FSL I have the same problem. I use to have a designer 1 and never had a problem. I do slow my speed when doing FSL but I am going to work with the tension like you and Shirlene suggested. I do love their thread for all other embroidery. Maybe it is just this machine? I am going to keep trying LOL!!!
Designerone, I had a lot of problems with black & white threads, three different brands, both poly and rayon, so I decided to spend a little more and buy Madeira cones from AllStitch.com, it was the best decision I have made.
I never have any problems with breakage or shredding with Madeira.
I have a Designer Diamond and I nearly always have to adjust the top tension regardless of what design I am stitching.
One problem with it that I have found is that the thread constantly jumps out of the thread take up lever, but this is nothing to do with which thread you use and I have reduced this problem by threading the lever from left to right (forming a loop around it) instead of right to left, then reducing the top tension.
I hope this little trick helps someone reading this.

bludaisy, I use MetroEmb thread on my FSL and have no trouble - if I did - I would check to make sure that the tension was correct - check with your dealer and see if there is something caught up from the breakage of the Sulky thread - that never was removed. Good luck.
Shirlene, Thank you so very much! Do you have to adjust your tension with different threads? I am still new at FSL.
That sounds more like a tension problem, perhaps on your machine you need to adjust your tension when using Metro..I like the thread, I haven't had any problems with it. The price is wonderful...
Do you think I would still have to adjust the tension if the Sulky works fine at that same tension or does it just depend on the different brands? Thanks for your advice!
Yes,,,sometimes.
Although both are embroidery threads they may be different weights.
