I know what you mean sukirani I spend as much time choosing a design (if not more) than it takes me to stitch it out!
Organizing for me is getting a little easier I have my files set up according to the design types applique (sub folders animals, flowers, holidays, etc.) RW with same sub folders, embossed w/ same sub folders, FSL with the same sub folders.
Then when I get a design for example for Fringe designs I open the sub folder ie: flowers and create a folder inside there with the websites name so I know where I got it from. I wish I had started this years ago it has really helped me out when someone asks where it comes from.

There is Catalogue express from Ann the Gran and just bought sewcat. Google sewcat and you will find It. I like it because it opens all zips and most formats. You can try both for free. With catalogue express you have to watch it, that you do not move designs in other files once in there as you will not be able to use or open them. Still need to learn more about sewcat and good computer is in repair lol. Good luck.
