? about Bernina 730E, anyone out there? This machine uses ART files, but PES seem to work sometimes too. If designs don't come in ART, what is the best thing to do? Thanks!

HI,
I have the BERNINA AURORA 440 QE, It comes with the Editor Lite software ,so i can use more or less all formates without converting . I have worked with PES n HUS ,and the machine had no problem accepting it. I think PES is a formate that all BERNINA machines accept along with ART.

I'm giving you link to sharongee's answer to this question. It was posted in personal instead of here. Hope it helps!

I have a Bernina 640E which is similar to the 730. I have Artista Lite software. I open the PES and when I "save as" it comes up to save as an ART format. If you don't have the Artista Lite software I don't know what you do. I'm glad that there are other Bernina people out there. So few of the free designs are saved in ART format. I wish the cuties would keep us in mind. Love and *

It's not that we don't keep you in mind, it's that NO other software can save to ART than the Artista. So we would have to buy it especially for that purpose and that's no option if you don't sell your designs.

Finally, I have my answer. Thank you. I have wondered about that for a long time.

If Pes works fine also, and a design is not in Art but offered in Pes why convert? just try the Pes.*4u

I have a Bernina 730 and I use PES designs without converting and it stitches out beautifull. No problems. On the contrary - when I convert my designs, the ART designs' pictures are very small.

I read something about it being better to convert from the original format. Does this really make a difference and how do you know what the original format is?

When a design is converted from one embroidery format to another the stitches are recalculated, with small aberrations. Most times that's OK, but those small ones add up when converting again.
Digitisers compile the EMBROIDERY format from the original DESIGN format - .eof in the case of Embird, .can in 3D - and do that for all formats needed. But you'll never get that design file - for several reasons - it's proof who made the original design, it shows all designing steps, it can't be used as such.

Try converting the format with your software. H&*
