machine, thread, stabilizers, and our time. Most companies in the same businesses stay in contact and charge close to the same prices for their services or products. I think we should try to come up with a way to do the same. We should not be giving our services away, or under cutting one another. Thanks.

I do a lot of company logos on clothing. I get between $1.00 and $2.50 per 1000 stitches. It all depends on the design, If there a lot of colour changes,I charge the $2.50, one colour would be $1.00/per 1000. That seems to be the going rate around here. Lynn

Sally, we have pushed around the $1 for 1000 stitches, but I worked it out to be $6-$12 a hooping - depending on the density of the design or size of the work involved. That includes all the materials involved - unless that is to be stitched on a speciality item, that the customer or person provides. Hope this helps. *4U

See Shirlene, that is part of my problem. Sometimes with FSL I can get 2 to 3 designs into my 5x7 hoop. Does that mean I divide that amount into the $6-$12 a hooping? It would not be fair to count that as one hooping. H&*.

I would think, because of the stitch count, that you would leave it as two hoopings.

Suzette hier by ons vra die dames R1.50 per minuut. Ek vra R1.00 per minuut, en dit is regtig redelik ingewerk jou tyd en gare. As iemand dit nie wil betaal nie, wel dit is jou masjien en jou tyd. Maar glo my ek word betaal en ook van die andser dames. So dit lyk my is die lopende prys hier by ons in S.A. Liefde Marie.

Ek vra gewoonlik R3.00 tot R4.00 per 1000 steke, en kry dit maklik.

I have charged $1:00 per 1000 stitches. But if the thread is fancy and cost more I do add that cost in to the price.

What do you mean by the thread being fancy? I find all thread costly. H&*.

momabear by momabear 23 Oct 2009

I asked this question as have many others. After reviewing all the available advise from here and other sites, I finally decided to charge $.50 to $1.00 per 1000 stitches depending on how fussy the fabric is, how many hoopings, and how much stabilizer. Also take into condideration what people in your area are willing to pay. Some designs have a lot of small stitches so you may need to adjust your price downward to keep it affordable.

If they are not even willing to pay the price for our cost, then it is not worth our time. Right? H&*.
