I have had this problem also. It is do discourageing. Where you get your designs makes a big difference. Where are your Angel from? H&*.
thanks for this question, and thank you all for the answers!*4u all
Tks for asking this question. I also tried one or two FSL designs. Luckily Yvonne was close and I asked her. I learned a lot by all the answers. All your cuties are great. Tks for helping all our new cuties
Cuties thank u for ur response. I read through everything and tries again. This time I did not hoop it TIGHT at all, and the problem solved. I thought the little "holes" in the lace should not b there, but when I had a good look at the projects some of u sent in, I realised mine looks the same. I still need a lot of advise and will ask that on my FSL journey. Have a nice day.
I bet that it is the digitizing Marthie. Let us know which angel you are stitching. Maybe we have the design and can help you. *4U
I see you got great answers, so I'll give you a flower :) Love,Yoriko
Marthie, I love doing FSL, and have had great succes with mine too. When we get together we must discus this too. Will show you what I use, and how I rinse it.
Do you actually rinse it under the tap, or leave it to just soak away too?
Sal lekker gesels binnekort.
Marthie, not sure that you are doing anything wrong for sure - some designs are just not digitized properly - sometimes - you could be hooping it incorrectly - have your resized the design - that is a be no no with FSL - do you have this trouble with any other FSL designs or just this one? Perhaps if you let us know which design it is - many of us have so many - that we might be able to tell you - if we had the same trouble with it. Hope this helps. *4U
In my opinion it may very well be the design itself but what I have found is that if you make your WSS too tight when the needle pierces the WSS a whole will start to form. It's like a perforation and it will continue to get larger everytime the needle goes back over that spot again. Just like a run in your panty hose. Hoop it tightly and work out the wrinkles if there are any but don't go back and pull it as tight as you can. Try it with just a hand sewing needle and watch the whole get bigger the tighter it is pulled.I use Badgemaster and rarely have a problem with FSL. I did at first till I learned this trick.

Hello Marthie, Ek het nog nie die FSL angels probeer nie, maar hoekaom is jy so stil Groete Marie.
It may not be anything you are doing, it may be poor digitising. The only way to tell would be if someone else has the exact same designs and stitches one out for you, that way you can compare the differences.
If you would like to email me melide_menschen@yahoo.com.au and tell me which design you are having problems with perhaps it will be one I have and I can stitch it out and let you know how it goes. I have many FSL angels.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
I have found that the mess type water sol is better. I use two layers and I turn one piece so it changes the grain of the material from the other. Also a good needle. This has worked for me. Shirlene may be around soon with more advise. Hugs
I found some designs does not stich out well . But also found the tighter you get your backing the nicer the design stitches out.
When I have had this problem I found it was from not hooping the WSS tight enough and it shifted. Using 2 layers make sure one is not loose . Also I prefer vilene over the solvy or clear type WWS.

I just thought it was an issue with the digitizing. I have that problem with some designs, and not with others. I know that one FSL bowl I did, dit it both times. And tehy were done several months apart. Different thread and different needles.
Hi Marthie--thanks for asking this question. I have been wanting to try FSL, but I have a feeling it's not easy. Don't know why I have the feeling, but we'll soon see. I'm also going to try some Angels for Christmas. There have been so many tips for FSL, but I didn't pay much attention to them, because I never did it. Now I'm going to mark all the posts. Thanks again.
MArthie, I had the same problem as you have now and I took my angel to my dealer to see what the problem was. In my case it was the thread, I bought a big spool (5000m) of offwhite yarn and that was a little bit stretchy and that was the problem. I can use this spool for other embroiderywork but not fir FSL so I bought another one for FSL and that works great.
Marthie, where did you get your FSL angels - it could be a problem with the design itself. Sew it with a new needle. Did you resize the design? I understand that can cause a problem with FSL. Hope you get your answer soon. It is such a shame to have used all that thread and time and the design just fall apart. Sue
