I have never had so many jumps in such a small design I have recently had 8 operations on my right hand and have no feeling in the first two fingers. 150 jumps will be problematic for me. Should I skip it and stick to emb designs? I make baby layettes, quilts, etc and donate to the military so 'cross stitch' is not critical to the project. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all :) San

Well girls, the final result was a mass of crisscrossed jumpstitches. The actual design turned out adorable when I finally found it under the mess. And yes, some of the darker colors which crossed under the lighter ones did show. The first design was halloween so I was lucky to have alot of drk rich colors. The second one was a baby design w/ lighter pastels and they did show thru. I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble w/ the condition of my hand, but they sure turned out adorable. Are all cross stitch designs laden w jumpers Thank you all so much for your help and advise with this..someday maybe I won't be a 'newbie'. Flowers to you all!....San

I always stop and cut jump stitches as I am embroidering. I bought a pair of long handled curved scissors and a pair of long handled forceps, just for this purpose. I hate it when there are jump stitches and they get stitched over, it makes it twice as hard to cut them later.

I guess you don't have software that let you see how it stitches out? I hope the jumps are in the early colours only and will be covered by the next colours. But that's only a good idea when the lighter colours come first. To me it sounds like poor digitizing to have that many jumps. Like the others the only advice I can give you is try a test first and see what happens.

I agree with shirlene, I think the stitches will be covered later on.It sure is too much if they are jumpstitches.hope your hand will be okay soon.

San, I am not sure that I know what you mean - most cross stitch - just is one thread that crosses back and forth with no jumps. Are you sure that the design doesn't come back and cover up those jump stitches? Good luck dear. Shirlene

I guess that is my question. Not having worked it much I guess I'm asking if the design does cover it. Sometimes they cross each other here and there, and 151 on a 4x would surley be a mess if the design didn't cover a lot of them. Guess this calls for a sample design to be sure. Thanks Shirlen!*

Yes, a sample design - would help you see - what exactly it will do - most cross stitch designs - end up with the coverage - or that has been my experience.
