Seriously, my husband bought me a Bernina Deco 340 in Dec. I have no embroidery friends or contacts and could only get 1 lesson in SA, before I had to return to Botswana. Then I discovered this site about 2 months ago - and since then all I do is connect to "Cute". I bought a number of nice designs from another site, but can't get away to actually DO embroidery. Does it get better after a while? When?

Thanks for all your advice and links!

There is a 12 step program. It's known as S.A.D.D. which of course stands for seriously addicted to downloading designs. Thus far, there is no know cure, but we meet here every day.;)

Lekker aand Liefde Marie.

It has not for me. I stay here so late at night that I will go to sleep in front of the computer. I eat my meals, what few I eat in front of the computer. I take time out to go to the restroom and to play with and walk my girls. Most of the time when the phone rings, if it is someone that likes to talk alot, I just do not answer it. I sit here and doze off alot! It is a good thing that I live alone. If I didn't it would not be long before I did! I do have to get up and go to the Dr. every Mon and Fri. with my legs but I do not live but 3 minutes from the hospital. Two of my Drs. have their offices in the hospital complex. I am not always on Cute but is does take up about 90% of the computer time. I have several gifts I have to get made by Thursday so I am going to have to get busy this week! I have met alot of very nice people on Cute! I have learned alot also. I have picked up some great designs if I ever sew again, and I do not feel so alone all the time anymore. I am disable and do not get out very much. I can but I am in terrible pain for days afterward when I change my schedule very much. I can not think of a nicer place to be or with nicer people!

I'm an addict too. But what a way to go. We all enjoy it so much, we don't need therapy. This is my therapy.

I've been a member for over a year and I'm still addicted. Try putting your sewing machine and computer in the same room.

Welcome to the "Cute" family.

There is no cure my dear suzette. sorry!! I have my machine connected to & right by my lap top. what I do is start my machine to embroidering, I never leave the rm when machine is working, then I'm on cute while I keep an eye on the machine. That works for me. this way I type & read at the same time I''m listening & watching my embroidery process, making thread changes etc. *4U

NOPE...you got it as bad as the rest of us....hehehe
I have learned how to sneak in a design while yaking on here....can't wait to get off work to visit with cuties...stay up till 2:30 am just to get some time in ...I turn the fan on a little higher so my DH doesn't wake up and chew me out...la at least its not something you have to worry too much about....WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME...

You're not the only one 'forgetting' to actually start a project and keep reading posts. Shirlene's advice is the only remedy in my opinion, start something first - that'll get things done! Have fun with your machine.

Suzette, dear one - there is no help that any of us can give you - that is for sure - you are a goner. Hehehe! The best solution that I can think of - is start a project - just before you sign on to CUTE - then when you have to change a thread - change it - come back - go back to the machine and do the back and forth thing - some times - you can actually get a project done while still being hooked into CUTE - ask me how I know????? Good luck and enjoy! *4U
