I remember reading somewhere that these are cut on the bias .. and some MIGHT BE wool. Cut them up in strips and use as binding. Might even dye them to match your project. If they are wool, wash them and felt with them into flowers.

I once did something similar. I then used the webbing to do a free-form weaving project. Actually took an old hula-hoop and did a spider-web shaped weaving. I used other materials to fill in spots, i.e., wool roving, unraveled hemp rope, some beads and other scraps of fabric, etc., in the same color hues.

Well, I'll be watching this post! I have the same problem with any kind of fabric, has to be useful for ***something***, I'll be looking out for what. It's kind of like stiffening, right? Good luck! Marji

Hi there - you could sew them all together as well and use it as a batting for a small quilt. Or you could scrunch it up and use it as stuffing for doll making or stuffed animals. Just a couple of thoughts.

Personally I would keep the tie backing fabric in the tie as it adds a bit of texture when sewing. It can also make it easier to sew.

Love and blessings Chris
