reason. I wish they would attach a small sample of the packaged stabilizer on the outside of the package, so I could feel the cutaways, and tearaways before I purchased the stabilizer. Has anyone else found this to be a problem? Where is a good place to buy soft, pliable cutaways, and tearaways??

What brand names are you happiest with?? Thank you ahead of time.

I get mine at my dealer... usually comes on 4 foot rolls for about 2.00/yard (WSS 4.00/yard). I think I would check out Joann's if I didn't have a dealer close by.

I order from my dealer in Atlanta, but you can also get it from embroideryonline.com. I also have a wholesaler and if you are interested in ordering a mega roll, PM me and I'll give you that web address. (you also need a sales tax number and a State registration number)

Jrob, I will try, I am not sure that I am using PM correctly. I live in Oregon and we do not have a sales tax. H&*

Like a lot of the others, I usually get my stablizers at JoAnns, they work terrific and with the 40% and sometimes 50% coupons it only costs about $11 for a whole bolt! When in dire need and I can't get to JoAnns (aprox 35 miles so) I go to good ole Walmart........You quilt shops will carry them also but you'll pay top dollar........

Bikermom, I also have about a 40 mile trip to the closest Joanns. The trip would be worth it if I bought it by the bolt. Then I could feel the texture before I purchased it. I do get there flyers. H&*.

Thank you Colonies, I thought all they carried was Solvy, and I think they are very over priced. H&*.

Although I don't have a lot of experience with many different brands. I do like the Solvy brand that I find at Joann's. With the 40% coupons- I get them at a very reasonable price. They are packaged with two staples which you can easily open. You can then feel the product inside the packaging. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for your help. I think Solvy is over priced, and I want to buy in larger amounts. As I said to Bikermom it is a 40 mile trip for me. H&*.

hi what i do is use old sheets or what ever i can find to hoop with then cut to size my stabilizers and put on the under side of hoop and pin in place with the top as this way there is no waste and when done then cut very close to your design and you would not even know what you used to hoop with works well for me as i do a lot of very heavy designs and need that very stiff satbilizer to keep the shape i hope this helps you out mary

I don't understand. Do you then have something like a patch? You use old sheets, emb on them with stabilizer underneath, cut out, THEN WHAT?

dlmds by dlmds 05 Aug 2009

Mary, What brand of stabilizer do you use? Thanks, H&*.

marymilf41 by marymilf41 24 Oct 2009

i am sorry for not being more clear but what i do is use a old sheet and hoop it in my hoop then put that on the machine then get the item i am useing and place that on the top of my hoop and fix it in place either by stich or by pins so that it will not movet then place my stablizer under the hoop and i cut that to size as not to waste you have to do some lining up but its worth it to take a few extra minutes to save the money when the embroidery is done then just cut the extra away thats on the back you can save a lot that way as i pick up sheets at yard sales or by the twin size at walmart brand cheapies and you get more that way then buying by the yard if you need to talk further just call me it is easer to explain over the phone my # is 207/538/9876 sorry for not answering sooner i lost track of the questions i had answered and just figured out that i can click on a button and it will show me all that i answered pretty cool thanks mary
