sure you use different passwords on all of your accounts. I don't know exactly how this happened, as I have an active Norton virus protection on my computer and have never received a virus that I know about. I guess we all need to be extra careful!!

So sorry for your troubles. Identity theft is even worse; you feel like you have been violated.

Yet another reason I stay away from all those freebie sites. Designs aren't worth this kind of hassle! These hackers are so sneaky, I have McAfee paid active updates all the time, still don't trust the internet with information. Good luck getting your money back! Hope you don't get any more strange charges! Hugs, Marji

Another reason to use pay pal. You are protected against fraud. Sorry this happened to you.

About the time I think I'm getting brave enough to use my credit card on line, I read something like this! I'm so sorry it happened to you, and it really does make me angry to think of these people getting what ever they want without working a lick! There are times I'd like to purchase something from a site, but don't. If I can't find a phone number to talk to a person, I just don't get it.

I had this happen on my visa account right at Christmas time last year. They charged over $1.000 of computer stuff. Am not sure how they got my visa card number but I ended up with a new card and the charges were deleted. Yes we need to be very careful of the information we give out via the internet.

Don't be frightened! I won't have to pay the amount. However, the thief will get away with what he purchased until they track "him" down. I'm assuming it is a male because the purchase was on-line video game time, etc. I feel sorry for the video game company because they are the ones to lose out, ultimately, I think,
because it's an instant download. If they can catch the thief, they can shut down the account, I hope!!

Thank you for the warning. My Paypal account is connected with my Visa Card, so charges would have been reversed.

Also it is wise to put in a strange character into your password. Like *!% in the middle of the word just to throw it off more. I hope you were able to get that $1,000 reversed.

I have already made that change, but thanks for suggesting it. Maybe someone else will benefit from that advice!
