the good news is the plaster of my wrist is gone. not so good is the fact that my hand and wrist is very swollen. all hurts, it's stiff and i still have to be very careful. perhaps in a week or two i can start with some physio.

but in time it will be okay i hope.my left wrist, which was broken last year is okay now too. so i'll just have to be patient. but another good thing i can take a shower in a normal way ! hugs for all of you who were interested, gerry

Oh Gerry I do know how happy you must be feeling, had the same thing when I broke my hand and the same now with my ankle but I despair that is ever going to be any good ever again as it is also still very swollen and sore, guess it just takes time. :-(

Do take it easy using it and be patient, words I tell myself too. LOL!!!
hugs and empathy, M

I am glad for you. Besides the shower stuff there is that itching. Now you can scratch he, he. Be careful and don't overuse that wrist. Treat it gently. Angie

Good to hear you are doing better with the cast off. I am always afraid I will fall and break a bone somewhere. I try to be so careful but things happen and then we HAVE to slow down. Take care.

Gerry, I'm so glad your plaster is off!!! How nice to make the acquaintance of your wrist again, hee hee hee. Be friendly to it, and bathe it, it will get better. It's so nice to get a shower and bath again, is it not? I had this happen to me, not getting that plaster wet was awful! Get better fast!! Hugs, Marji

Fijn dat je van het gips af bent, hopelijk ben je snel van de zwelling en pijn af. Wat zal je machine het straks hard te verduren krijgen. Doe het toch maar kalmpjes aan! Beterschap!!

Hi Gerry, glad to hear you are on the "mend" no pun intended. Isn't it lovely having a shower without all those plastic bags covering your limbs? The wrist will go down, it just takes time. Patience is good!

Hope to see you back up on here and sewing! Love and blessings Chris

Glad to hear that the cast is off! Just be very careful and do not do any damage and let it completely heal. I read where someone had the right idea. Ice cream with a milk chaser for the calcium, how about ice cream just for the ice cream. If it is still swollen, do not let it hang down or it will swell worse. Keep it elevated or at least heart high. At night, lay it across your chest or prop it on a pillow. That will keep it from swelling worse. My guess is that you already know all of this if you broke your other wrist last year. This was just a friendly reminder. You have got to get it well so you can type and get back on the embroidery machine. Seriously, I am glad to hear the good news that the cast is gone. I have both legs in compression bandages and they have been that way for awhile! I will be so glad when I can get in the shower and bathe until the water runs cold. I miss my shower every morning. It has to be even harder for you to bathe because you didn't have have but one hand you could get wet. God bless you! Linda
