I'm in the final stages of making a ragged flannel quilt but now I don't know what to do on the edges. I suppose it is snipped too, but what do I need to do first? I'd appreciate your suggestions

Hey, exactly same as what I'm doing for my friend. I am finishing it as bikermom suggests too as I have done a couple that way and turns out great.

I sewed a two inch border all around so the outside edge is folded and also there were four layers to clip on the lasted ragged edge.

A good plan, will remember for next time. With quilting, I have so many ideas, but don't always get 'ready, set, go' in the right order!

Clip seams about 1/4" apart. Remember when this is washed, alot of lint will come off in washer, and the lint filter will become clogged, so keep an eye on it. The more its washed, the softer and fluffier it becomes.

This is so pretty, now I want to try one. Is there a pattern or directions saying how many layers or whatever is needed. SO pretty.

I see you already got the answer that I was going togive to you. Have fun making the fringe.

I have noticed that sometimes they put a knot in the fringed edge, but sometimes they do not. Guess the 'fringe' is longer, to accomodate the knot. The double stitches will do well to keep it square.

You need to run a line of stitches along the outside edges as far in as you want your raggedy edge to be, then snip away, have fun........

Thank you. I thought that was probably it, but wasn't sure. Maybe two rows to be sure?
