I think Daisy was a big help to u. No question is dumb when u do not no the answer. We r here to help *4U
Live and learn. I cut my iron on slightly larger than the design and round off all the edges. Pointy edges seem to pull away sooner than rounded. I press the entire piece and then go back and repress just the edges that extend past the design to give it a little extra umph. Be sure to tell whomever will be washing the item that it can be repressed if it starts to pull away. With 8 grandkids all under 7yrs old,(6 girls,2 boys) I have a great deal of experience with iron on mesh. Hugs to the new Mommy and baby girl.
Thank Maryjo! I'm not sure my DDL knows what an iron is but my son sure does. He does his own ironing. With four kids she says she doesn't have time. :)
Hey, I don't allow anything that isn't perma press in my house. My iron is in my sewing room because I only use it when I'm doing a project that needs it!!!!!!!!
Hi--this is sample of store bought outfit. I have done many this way also. The iron-on soft fabric goes on after design is done. Hope this helps.
Opps! I used it as the stablizer and stitched over it. Should I cut another piece and iron over the design? Boy I should of asked before I started! :)
When I stop to think about it (kinda late in the game) it makes sense to iron on AFTER I have stitched.
You should still be able to iron another piece on top. Feel the stitches without it and they will probably be to "rough" for baby's delicate skin. :) Oh, and congratulations!
Thanks so much. I guess we learn by trial and error. I just didn't think it through.
I usually make my backing about 1/4 inch bigger than design itself and seems to work fine.. if it comes loose just press it down again.. works great
Thanks for the quick answer. I have WSS on top and need to wash them first. Will it still iron down after washing?
