I collect antique hat pins, eggs, old world santa's and witches. My mom used to give me a new witch every year on my birthday (Halloween). I have them from all over the world. A strange collection I know but it does keep people talking.

I collect Fonts, Barbies and Embroidery Threads. I really like knowing that the threads are right there when I want to make something. So I asked my friends to give me embroidery threads for my birthday. I collected Vintage Vogue patterns until 1992. After Hurrican Andrew came through Southern Dade County and destroyed all of my patterns I just did not have the heart to do it again.

I'm going to have to look this one up on Google. I have no idea what they are.

celticlady1031 by celticlady1031 22 May 2009

They are so cute. Might be an idea for our new GD to be.

I USED to collect a variety of things..vintage toys, madam alexander dolls, matchbox cars, keychains, matche books, then I started collecting dust bunnies on top of all so I cleaned house one day and told my 5 children come and get what you want...Now I have a very small collection of garden heads that adorn the top of my kitchen cabinets they are quite a conversation piece and they make me smile...dust bunnies aren't to bad to clean from these..and my embroidery designs don't collect dust bunnies so I opted to keep this collection going.During the holiday season I add festive winter caps to all my lil guys pictured below.

My mother collected the demitass spoons from all over too! Your post brought back sweet memories for me..I have inherited her collection and I just may have to pull them out and see if I can buy the spoon racks to display them as I don't know what happened to the ones she had..

I collected Barbie Dolls--notice USED to. Not anymore. I have so many, and if I don't have a grand-daughter, they are OUT OF HERE! They are not the same anymore :(
My daughter couldn't believe it when I started collecting them. She reminded me of what I used to tell her--"They are all the same, just different clothes". I should have taken my own advice :)

I remember when you used to buy a Barbie and the clothes came seperate. I guess Mattel figured out the way to make more money was to sell the dolls and outfits together.

I have collected mice figurines since I was a child. Somehow all but three of those were lost in my parents move but still have too many. Employees at work have added to my collection over the years, a Woodland series that is just the cutiest ever. Also sewing collectibles. I still have my doll collection too. I use to collect local cookbooks when we were moving around a lot.

Shoes really bad have been officially cut off. Dh says cant possibly wear them all. I however change my shoes 5-7 times a day sometimes especially like sandals.
Fabric what dh dont know dont hurt right. And of course embroidery designs and thread. Really neat idea thanks Mickey.

Ahhhh.... The things DH's don't know. LOL

celticlady1031 by celticlady1031 22 May 2009

What woman doesn't love shoes? I'm a city girl who now lives on a farm. I take out my precious heels and look at them adoringly and wonder.... Will I ever wear them again? But I won't part with any of them.

Ditto, Mickey. Heels, sigh, I'd probably fall if I tried to walk in those spikes now, but still....

Interesting that someone else collects hatpins, and eggs! I also collect silver and cookbooks (I have over 1000 hardcovers ) and of course fabric...it is such good insulation..ha, ha, ha!

It's funny how we all love to collect 'things'. I hv a real thing for material; I used to collect miniture doll-house furniture, dolls, stamps. Over the years things get packed away becuz you move & they just don't re-surface much. I still hold these things close to my heart thou; aging can not take all the kid out of us!

I love growing orchids, (which I have to collect first). old cookery books and sewing books - they have to be over 50 years old. Plus all the bits and bobs that go with sewing/embroidering

I grew orchids in Calif. Had to give them away when we moved up here. I don't seem to have the same luck now. Boy I sure do miss them.

I collect clothing, a whole closet full of varying sizes down from the ones I am currently wearing. I will fit them again one day LOL. I also collect socks and underwear; I do laundry out at a laundrymat and if you have a drawer of each you do not have to do it so often. In a one bedroom apartment that is all the room I have for collecting, besides the fabric and eb thread and designs of course.

Mickey, this is a cute idea. I collect hearts, butterflies, bears and crystal bells. I haven't added to any of them for years - other than through my FSL collection. Matter of fact, I am not really sure that I have many of any of them, any more. Hehehe!
