run. The machine itself...I could do. But to get plenty of designs is going to really cost me. The dies run from $50 to $100 a piece. You would have to have a really large selection in order to have plenty to choose from. UGH!! So, I looked around, and I found the Cuttlebug. Much cheaper, but looks like it's made of cheap plastic. Does anyone have either one of these machines?? If so...how do you like them, and are they worth the money?

My daughter in law has one and I would love to have one. Walmart here sells them now and not to long ago all the dies were on sale for 35-65 dollars. But alas....broke again!!!!!hehehe

Welcome to the club. I also want stuff which I cannot really afford. Nowadays when I go in the kind of store where the good to have's are, I don't take my purse with me so I really cannot buy anything.

I can relate to that.I do so many crafts, I kinda spread myself too thin. and many projects never get completed.

If you got one would you still have time to embroider?

Well, for a while, probably not. LOL! But, I would hope that once the novelty wears off, I'd find the time to embroider again.

They have the Expressions and ALOT of the items to go with it on an informercial in the wee hrs of the morning( I never sleep) and I want it so bad that I can hardly stand it. I just have so much that I already don't use because of my health and I really can not afford it. It has a decent price on it with all that comes with it and you do not have to pay for it all at once. It has the mats, the light weight board, the light weight metal, several of the cart. and it even has the material to do the glass etching. I know I am forgetting some of it also. I watch it on Hallmark sometimes and on another channel sometimes. I am talking about somewhere between 4:00 & 6:00 in the morning. It is off by 6:00 E.S.T. Linda in Ga

I believe that is the one I saw. I was up early getting the kids up for school. ANd it's true, that package isn't horribly priced, and it does come with lots of stuff.

OH - I so one of those - just this last week and I almost bought it - then re-thought what I would use it for - I know my Mother has been wanting one for years, but she was going to pay so much more for it - than the one I saw - I believe if you do alot of that sort of work - it could be very useful and the extra's are what cost you the money, so be careful. *4U

I also wondered how often I would really use it. I don't do scrapbooking, but this thing cuts fabric, plastic, vinyl... It just looks so cool! LOL!

I have the cricut expression. I purchased it new from ebay for about half of the price of what I could get it for at Michael's Craft Store. I got two cartridges with it. Also the cartridges are sold for much cheaper on ebay than you can purchase them in the store. I really like it -- it is fun to use. I mostly use it for cutting out flowers and things to decorate gift bags and cards and envelopes with. There are so many more usages. I have also cut mats to border my pictures that I have put in frames or for scrapbooking pictures. I hope to use it more in the future -- when I'm not too busy embroidering-- for scrapbooking.

Thanks! I know that Those stores have it, and also have the coupons often, but I believe that the Cricut and accessories are often excluded form the coupons. I'll have to re-check the fine pring on the coupons,in case I'm wrong.

marlakay by marlakay 27 Apr 2009

The cricut and accessories are excluded from the discount coupons that Michael's crafts have.

waterlily by waterlily 27 Apr 2009

That's what I thought! Heaven forbid they allow you to use the coupon on something that it would really save some money on.
