how beautiful your iris is. I noticed today my tiny forsythia bush is starting to bloom and I have seen daffodils the past couple of days. So spring is finally getting to Pennsylvania!!

Wow!! I just love irises!! Is that a miniature bearded iris, or is it a dutch iris? It looks so tiny next to your light. Is it really blue? How do I get one? Aaaaagggghhhhhh. Only my crocuses are blooming here, daffs and tulips have sent up leaves, but no blooms, it's waaaayyy too early here in Erie PA USA. It's supposed to snow again this weekend. Hope it doesn't freeze the buds on the trees, if it does they won't bloom (or have apples, either). Thanks for the beautiful photo!!! Luv ya, Marji

Beautiful. We live in Western Nebraska...in the middle of nowhere. Hard to have flowers here because of the wind and no trees for shelter. I do manage to get them to live in pots during the summer up close to the house. I am anxious to have flowers again. Mona

How beautiful Katy - I love Irises. I am just about to plant some Spring bulbs for us here in Newcastle. Freesias and Daffodils (Erlicheer). We are still in Autumn - beautiful crisp mornings and lovely mid 20's Celsius here today. Can't wait for winter though as I love the cold and rain. Must be mad, but after the hot summer any cool days are appreciated. Can't wait for Spring though as the smell in the air is gorgeous. Love and blessings Chris

I hope to visit your beautiful country someday!!

pennifold by pennifold 03 Apr 2009

Hi there Katy - we certainly have a varied climate in this wide brown land. We have rugged mountain ranges, vast desserts, beautiful waterfalls, absolutley stunning rainforests (mostly in sunny Queensland) we have the cold climates in Victoria and Tasmania and of course Western Australia with the magnificent wildflowers and gold! We certainly have everything here - beautiful beaches are our claim to fame up here on the east coast of Australia.

I myself originally come from South Australia - would you believe the driest state in Australia. I left when I was 21 so don't have too many ties left there nowadays.

Whenever you want to come let me know you would be quite welcome to come and stay with us.

Love and blessings Chris (just look up Newcastle Australia on Google earth - I live in a suburb called Jewells!)

It's one of my favorits...
I have a collection of many colors all around my home in the garden. They just start to grow.
Now only the daffodils are open right now near Paris...

Yours has a beautiful color!

Mine are not up quite that high but they sure have come along in the last week..we have had a fair bit of rain which is washing most of the snow and muck away although the mold and new buds are giving me a bad time with my alergies, still looking good...there is always Sinus Tylenol...LOL

When my mom died I dug up her Beverly Sills Irises and planted them in my backyard, every year when they bloom, I know she is with me and saying hello. I drag my daughters into the backyard and say" Look Grandma is saying hello" mind haven't bloom yet but I'm watching. :-)

I also have some white one that will bloom later. I'll have to look up Beverly Sills iris. I know she was an opera singer.
