Oh, you are going to have so much fun! My sister and I have gone on 2 cruises and sure plan to do another some day. Bring a "dress up" outfit if you want to go to the dining room, but we found we preferred the cafeteria style dining. Fresh pineapple for breakfast every day! Eat what ever you like, walking all over the ship gets you exercising. Enjoy!

How exciting. You got lot's of information. Enjoy the trip. There is always lots to do and eat on a cruise. We had a safe that we could use in the room I believe. You may have to pay extra for something like that now days.

Thanks guys. I was going to kinda mix and match and a carry on/over night bag. With all my meds, camera ect with me. I can't wear tennies due to neruomas, but have some special shoes and inserts that will help. And my good old trusty crocks. It will be raining and cold when we leave, so yes, a jacket and long pants for the trip are in order. We have rechargable batteries for our cameras and extra memory sticks. I plan on putting my Expensive camera in the ships vault until we hit shore.
My hubby is kinda peeved that he has to wear a jacket on board for dinner. LOL He's a kinda jeans, and boots guy.
Should I take my formal dress? I have some nice pant suits (no dresses) and a dressy pant suit.
thanks guys,youre the best.

If you are planning on going ashore anytime during the lay overs, try shopping off the main strip. those stores are own by the shipping lines and charge more for their products....if you go on excursions done by the community it is more exciting because you get to see the real thing and not the commercial things. we took about 500.00 when we went. you don't need that much but it was nice to have to get to do extra things. You don't need money aboard except for you have to purchase the refillable cup for sodas. At least we did. Congratulations of 27 th. We celebrate our 27th in June...

Shouldn't need and cash on the ship. You can eat all you want for free.. alcohol drinks you have to pay for buy they put it on yer cabin charge that you pay with a credit card or cash at the end. Some ships have fancy places to eat on them that you have to pay for but you don't have to go to them. ( Johnny Rockets on RC for one place)On RC you can order 2 dinners for each person if it something your gonna like..GET 2. Pack of course shorts but do take long pants and a long sleaved top as it does get cool in the evenings...sometimes. Our 7th cruise this last Jan was cool 70 degrees. We were fine being from Wis but the people from down there were freezing in Jamacia! Take lots of pictures, they sell batteries on the ship if your dies but they cost alot. I packed tops and bottoms that I could mix and match and rewore alot because I didn't want the heavy luggage. Nothing worse than heavy luggage, and a long walk to where you have to be. DO pack 1 pair of undies on your "carry on the ship" or anything you want to have right away..like pills, camera, sunscreen, comb, because sometimes your luggage doesn't get to your room till AFTER you are sailing..and sometimes at late at 5:30..It was late for us last time...but dinner the first night is casual anyway. JUST have fun... Check with your DR before you go to get a sea sick patch that you put behind your ear.. AND NEVER touch the patch and then your eyes! This last cruise I took 1/2 a dramamine a day and I was fine. My hubbie never takes anything. AND a full stomach helps alot!! SO keep EATING!!

Hi I'm new to this, but i do know that you have to watch your money on these cruse ships, my friend was on one and she left her room to go to dinner, but came back to her room to get her purse, and all of her money (1500.00) was gone! and they couldn't prove that she ever had that much, so she lost it all! so be careful, and take things with you!

Luggage: Google your airline. It will give you weight and size limitation. 5 days...You will dress up for dinner. You may/may not want some casual clothes to go shopping at the destination stops most cruises have. Take your bathing suit, some workout clothes and tennis shoes. 5 outfits for everyday wear. Take a beach towel and swimsuit cover up and lots of sunscreen. Be SURE and take some seabands. You can get them at any drug store and wear them! AFTER you get seasick, nothing will stop it short of dramamine and passing out, so don't get sick to start with. Now, relax and have fun!
