Congratulations. Hopefully it will continue to go well.
Oh Marietta what fun! Teaching is so rewarding. I have always felt I received more than I gave. The look of accomplishment and pride on their faces melted my heart.
My oldest son learned how to sew. He wants me to ship him one of my older machines. He has to borrow a machine when he wants to sew. His last project was drapes for the living room and he thinks he kept the friends machine a little to long. hahahaha
Let us know how things are going. Post some of their finished items in projects. We would love to see them. Best of luck to you.
Thank you, and I just love the story of your son. I only have 2 sons, and the youngest who is 29 used to sit with me when I used to sew, and make the loveliest things. I still think he would have made a great designer. The oldest who is 33 would'nt be caught dead doing sewing. LOL.
OH WELL DONE Marietta! Congratulations!!! I am so thrilled for you! I hope you become rich and famous enjoying what you love to do most.
hugs n roses, Meganne
Thank you Meganne, you know would'nt that be just dandy. Then I would come and visit all of you all over the world. It would really be fun, don't you think? Ha, ha. Oh I realy wish. * for U
Good luck and GOD BLESS YOU for teaching again...everyone should learn how to sew and let their creative spirits loose...
Marietta, congratulations to you, and success in your venture. Hugs&blessings, Yoriko
Marietta, much success in your endeavor to help others learn - you have to be a good teacher - that is for sure. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will keep getting what you are getting. Enjoy yourself and let them know all the wonderful things they can do with sewing and embroidery and you will help alot of ladies learn a new and exciting craft.
Thank you so much. You know, I love people and therefore teaching. And do not be afraid, i am going to really try to get some of my students to do embroidery.
Good luck with your new venture! People making their own clothes is becoming a lost art form! Not very many people still take the time to sit pick out the pattern, material, cut it out then sit down and sew it up. I did it for alot of years but since my Mom passed away I have not sewn for anyone but myself. My Mom thought she had to buy from the most expensive dress shops around but after I made her a few pants suits, she quit shopping! She would not even pick out the material. She left it up to me. I bet she had 50 or more outfits that she was wearing when she passed away that I had made her. Too bad we were not the same size. I did give them all away. Someone got some use out of them. She was a smoker and I would never have been able to wear them anyway. My allergies would not have let me!
If you enjoy what you are doing don't give it up. That is part of your rewards! You are really giving alot of people a chance that they would not have otherwise! Enjoy. Maybe you can throw in some embroidery with it. You know, glitz with the glamor!Linda in Ga
Thank you, then you know how rewarding it is to finish something well, and wear it, I hope my students will feel the same.
Do not worry, I am going to try my hardest to get some of them interested in embroidery. As you say "the glitz with the glamour"
Congratulations and good luck on your new school.****
where are you at i need that i cant sew a straight line lol
oh! so is that the way you are supposed to do it? On a straight line? I was wondering what I was doing wrong lol
Ha, ha, you made me laugh. I was born with a very straight eye, and thank God for that. But I think that would be the right way yesssss. LOL
Congrats on your shop. I hope for you the best. It is so relaxing to be able to sit down and sew something, and see the fruit of your labor. I love to sew for the gkids. They see no faults in anything (yet!!). Teaching someone how to sew must reep many rewards. Wishing you the best.
Where do I sign up...sounds so fun Best of everything
Bravo is a good idea! I teach people patchwork, embroidery and "boutis". I of course volunteered on Wednesday and Friday. I love to convey my passion to other people!*4U
I have so much trouble reading patterns. What is very discouraging it take me much more time to make things than pattern suggests. I love to try but am extremely slow. VERY VERY slow.
Thank you Peggy. You know, nobody really gets it done in patterns time. As long as you are willing to try, that is all that matters.
I wish you all success in the world with your school. Pity that I'm too far away to enroll for your courses, I would have loved to join. God bless you *
Congratulations on your venture. I know you will do well with it. It is wonderful that you can do something that you love.
Best of luck with your venture. I hope you'll go on enjoying it and get your students to enjoy sewing too.
Too bad you are so far away from Canada... I would need some welldone courses! I wish you a lot of success in this new challenge! Have fun! Pat
