This is my 1st time using Janome Hoop B for towels embroidery. I did it the 2x yesterday and the results are the same. I dont know how to post pics of my failed works but its like the outlines far away from the filled designs. Not only so, I have some problem with the thread at certain area, so i run it again (backward and start again).... instead of threads going over the same area, its going elsewhere.

When the machine keeps on moving, I noticed that the towels get more loose etc. Where did I do wrong?

I hoop the towel on the big hoop, then I put a cut away stabiliser beneath it (not hoop). Top I put water soluable stabiliser.

Help.

simply hoop up with WSF or stitch and tear, lay your material in postion over it and hten lay a second piece of WSF over the towle and baste them all into position before you start to embroider. If you have not got the baste stitch then mail me and i will send you the ones for the 5x4 and the 5x7 hoops.BY makeing a sandwich of the towel the stitches sit on top of the WSF and are not pulled into it.Hope this helps

All of these answers are great. Just note if you pin the towel to the stabilizer, make sure the pins are outside the hoop. I use an inexpensive heavy tearaway in the hoop with about an inch all around the outside, Put the hoop on the machine and finger press the towel into the hoop. Then pin the towel to the extra stabilizer outside the hoop. Use a clear heat&gone topping or organza on top of terrycloth towels. This keeps the stitches from sinking into the terrycloth and keeps the terry cloth from poking out through the stitches after they are washed. If you use organza, trim it away close to the stitches without cutting the stitches. What's left will blend into the terrycloth; or you can use a soldering iron to melt the excess organza away.

I have a Janome, too, Eve, and everyone is right, you have to hoop the stabilizer and stick the towel to it somehow, any one or all of the methods described. If the towel is thick, that hoop just won't hold it taught enough, that's why you're having registration problems. Best of luck, don't give up!! Marji

You got lots of good answers. I also had a problem yesterday with a towel. The bottom corner curled under and caught in stitches. I know we all have our own way to try projects. With heavy towels, I only hoop the stabilizer, then spray adhesive, then pin towel down around edges, then put layer of solvy on top, also pinning it,then stitch. Also if needed, you can float another layer of stabilizer under the hoop.

You are going to have to hoop the stabilizer and also use water soluable on top. (if it is going to just be for show, I use cut-away stabilizer) When you just hoop terry towels, they will stretch as they are moving and being sewn. bikermomfl had an excellent hint, but if you don't have the outline stitch, you can just pin A LOT and it will work then. (Sometimes, if you are very good one of the cuties will offer to digitize the outline for you ) I also iron the nap of the towel in its chosen direction on BOTH sides. Meaning if it lays left, I iron it that way. If it lays toward the bottom, I iron it that way. I have embroidered on the thickest towels imaginable and as long as I follow those steps, I've never had a problem. Good luck! Check back if you still have a problem.;)

I know this is an old thread but I am having a terriable time with my towels. They are good, I've already ruined one. Nice and thick. I did a test on a peice of cotton so I know its not the pattern. I have tried everything from hooping to not hooping (using spray adheasive) WS on top, double stablizer on back, EVERYTHING! The bottom of my pattern does not stay on line. Whats up? Any suggestions other then the one above?

I have a Pfaff 2170 and I have to hoop the sticky stabilizer on first, then put the towel plus WWS on top. Baste a outline first and then embroidery on it. Also it depends alot on your towel's nap. I don't like to do heavy naps because that can throw your stitches off too.

I had a problem once and the way I solved it was to hoop my stablizer, then place my towel on top and then placed my wss on top of that then used the outline stitch to hold it down. It's worked every time for me hope this helps you....

Which machine do you have and where did the design come from It may only be that particular design has not been digitised properly if it is happening each time
